Things in Florida might be getting worse.

Is that even possible?

Well, I never heard of that cream cheese thing before Frankie's warning. Sounds like a possible escalation to me.

Why stop with cream cheese? Why not escalate things further and include ice cream?

So all criminals have mental health issues?
I think mental health is a root cause for many criminals/societal problems... but certainly not ALL, and maybe not even most.
It's all or nothing with you? You can't solve some problems unless they apply to all?
No. I didn’t say that.
The question is... what does a “police-free” future look like.
The answer implies that we won’t need police if we have better mental-health professionals/system.
I am simply pointing out that, though if may reduce the need for police and allow us to reduce the number of police, it would not eliminate the need for police entirely.

OK fine, I posted in a thread that had a troll title that almost none of the people who say Defund the Police think. Sue me, to engage in the rhetoric of our over-legalized state. Or just respond to what I said, which I guess you did at some point.

In the poll, which was conducted by Ipsos in partnership with ABC News using Ipsos’ Knowledge Panel, nearly three in four white Americans and 57% of Hispanics are against defunding the police.
Democrats stand as the lone faction among the political tribes that approve by a majority of defunding the police (55%) and redirecting it to mental health, housing and education programs (59%).

jusplay4fun wrote:Is that your ONLY answer to a large problem? Military on the Streets and killing civilians?
IF the only way to restore calm in the streets is to kill people, we are a sad society. I do not think such tactics are necessary in most cases.
All though there are some few rand are times when a "heavy handed"response (guns, massive arrests, shooting of violent rioters) is needed by the police or National Guard troops is needed, I do not thing this is the time to use such tactics against most protesters.
BTW: Some "crazy"mayors of large cities have banned the use of Tear Gas against some of these protesters, not ALL of whom have been peaceful. Some in the Media in the USA now call them "mostly peaceful."
