TRUMP Wins Daytona 500!

Postby saxitoxin on Sun Feb 16, 2020 10:43 pm

Adding to his list of accomplishments, President Donald J. Trump today took the wheel of the Presidential State Car and won the Daytona 500 in front of 101,000 attendees and 23 million television viewers.

Earlier, the President made a low fly-by in Air Force One over the track.

Television commentators said the President's appearance was "the most incredible thing" they'd ever seen!

Love for America was rampant in the bleachers and from the drivers! So refreshing and family friendly.

I thought it was cool. He follows in Reagan's and both Bushes' footsteps being involved in the Daytona race. He took it one step farther personally making the announcement, taking a pace lap and personally wishing the drivers well on team radio. Did a damn good job and was tactically brilliant. Good on him.

for those Trumpsters who are paying attention..

A Perfect Storm
: 1979 Daytona 500

A Perfect Storm chronicles the day that NASCAR jumped from a regional race series to the national sports spotlight. Built around the events of February 18, 1979 this documentary will detail how a major blizzard across the Eastern United States created an audience for CBS's big risk, inaugural live coverage of the Daytona 500. It was a make or break moment for CBS and NASCAR, but four hours later the race finished with a flourish and three drivers were having a fist-fight on the track. The next morning the fight was front page news, CBS had record ratings and NASCAR would never be the same. Featuring a mix of the race broadcast, recently uncovered archive materials, plus first person accounts from the broadcasters, news makers, competitors and fans who experienced the day that changed NASCAR and sports broadcasting forever.

I personally know people involved in this race as security and vendor businesses.

His appearance cost the tax payers of this country hundreds of thousands of dollars, and it wastes hours of time for people and vendors attending the race.

This was one of the largest taxpayer funded campaign events in the history of the Nation!

One guy I know had to show up on race day at 4am to get through security and get setup, whereas at past races he would’ve gotten there around 9am... that’s 5hours of his life wasted, now multiply that by hundreds (or thousands) of people who lost their time because this President was looking for a good PR stunt.

This guy WAS (is?) a Trump supporter but he’s now so pissed... not only was his time lost, but his sales were down about 20% from past years. Apparently security measures hampered regular attendees enough that they had less time to make purchases and/or didn’t want to risk leaving their seats.

The stands were packed full. If you can't sell hot dogs, nachos and knickknacks in that environment...

Plus the race is today! Doubling the opportunity to sell.

That's not President Trump's fault, that's Nancy Pelosi's fault.

In his capacity as a private citizen, Trump is entitled to go to the Daytona 500 if he likes; just he, Melania and Barron. However, the Secret Service - under a law passed by Congress - is required to protect the President. Unless you believe President Trump should be above the law and do what he likes regardless of what the law says, all costs and inconvenience were therefore the fault of Nancy Pelosi and her Democrat Congress.

So, to recap - everything good about President Trump's appearance at the Daytona 500 was thanks to the president; any inconvenience experienced by individuals was thanks to Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats.

cute...

Are you saying what I wrote is incorrect and/or makes no sense?

Even without personal contacts impacted by this tax-payer funded campaign event, it would be simple logic to assume that there would be inconveniences and costs that were additional and unexpected due to President Trump’s attendance.

Viewership was up 19% over last year. I couldn't find the actual seat attendence but 19% increase on TV is huge interest.

Comapare that to the Movie awards that dropped 20% just recently.

geez.. me simply asking you what law you were referring too.. and you failing to be able to defend your position.. entails you saying i am ' throwing poop'...

if your debate was stronger & you could back-up what you claim with facts. .then you wouldn't need to use off-hand profanity when replying.. you would simply defend your position..

keep digging buddy..

Take 18 U.S. Code § 872: “Extortion by officers or employees of the United States.”

According to 18 U.S. Code § 595, when a government official, “in connection with any activity which is financed in whole or in part by loans or grants made by the United States, or any department or agency thereof, uses his official authority for the purpose of interfering with, or affecting, the nomination or the election of any candidate for the office of President.

Now your list of 400.

Now your list of 400.

1st off.. you need to quote the law correctly.. 595 & 872 are 2 separate laws...

§872. Extortion by officers or employees of the United States

"Whoever, being an officer, or employee of the United States or any department or agency thereof, or representing himself to be or assuming to act as such, under color or pretense of office or employment commits or attempts an act of extortion, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both; but if the amount so extorted or demanded does not exceed $1,000, he shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both."

18 U.S. Code § 595.Interference by administrative employees of Federal, State, or Territorial Governments

" Whoever, being a person employed in any administrative position by the United States, or by any department or agency thereof, or by the District of Columbia or any agency or instrumentality thereof, or by any State, Territory, or Possession of the United States, or any political subdivision, municipality, or agency thereof, or agency of such political subdivision or municipality (including any corporation owned or controlled by any State, Territory, or Possession of the United States or by any such political subdivision, municipality, or agency), in connection with any activity which is financed in whole or in part by loans or grants made by the United States, or any department or agency thereof, uses his official authority for the purpose of interfering with, or affecting, the nomination or the election of any candidate for the office of President, Vice President, Presidential elector, Member of the Senate, Member of the House of Representatives, Delegate from the District of Columbia, or Resident Commissioner, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both.
This section shall not prohibit or make unlawful any act by any officer or employee of any educational or research institution, establishment, agency, or system which is supported in whole or in part by any state or political subdivision thereof, or by the District of Columbia or by any Territory or Possession of the United States; or by any recognized religious, philanthropic or cultural organization."

2nd.. --> who has Trump extorted...?
or
when has Trump used his official authority for the purpose of interfering with, or affecting, the nomination or the election of any candidate for the office of President, Vice President, Presidential elector, Member of the Senate, Member of the House of Representatives, Delegate from the District of Columbia, or Resident Commissioner, ?

extortion
[ikˈstôrSH(ə)n]

NOUN
the practice of obtaining something, especially money, through force or threats.

… Maybe you are thinking of Biden extorting Ukraine to fire the prosecutor.. & Obama using his official Authority to spy on a Presidential Candidate..
