Paris January 2020?

Postby 2dimes on Sat Jan 11, 2020 10:21 pm

I'm kind of surprised Saxi is not beakin' off about this.

Pictures from Thursday the 9th looked pretty sporty. I don't know anything about the strikes really but I like France and have wanted to check out Paris.

Should we go? Might be fun to watch the riots demonstrations if you can get a hotel room with an overlooking balcony.

Is it all over town or was it kind of focused on a particular street?

Is no one on this forum living there anymore? Wasn't there a few people from there posting before?

Best avoid the whole country. Everyone knows that if there is a demonstration in a city then that proves the government is corrupt, hated by the whole people and an uprising is imminent.

Actually, what really blows my mind is that saxi is not beakin' off about this:

The equipment failures and the transit agency’s monitoring of the company’s performance were the subject of a blistering report by city Comptroller Scott Stringer last month. The audit found that over the seven-year contract with Bombardier, the company consistently failed to meet project deadlines, produce acceptable work and promptly correct serious defects.

The audit also showed that the MTA failed to adequately oversee Bombardier’s contract performance and failed to complete required annual evaluations.

“Bombardier sold us lemons,” Stringer said in a statement today. The comptroller, who’s considering running for mayor next year, also said the company’s poor performance was due in part to the MTA’s “layers of mismanagement.”

Why am I not surprised you like a nation of fat lazy smelly idiots? Also, in France they sell beer in McDonald's fatboy, I'm already surprised you haven't emigrated.

Not sure january is the best moment, mostly right now with the transport strikes (but hey you're canadian so I don't think the cold weather and nights at 5pm would disapoint you that much).. You should go later, like may or june. If you do pm me, tell me how long you're staying and what you want to see. Left the city of lights almost 5 years ago now...

I had just seen a picture of a street filled with demonstrators taken from above, there was pillars of smoke.

I was actually curious to see if anyone actually knew what was going on there. I understand people are striking to protest fuel prices but are the pictures indicative of Paris or just the street shown?

When I asked if we should go, I was wondering if the forum members should take a trip to eat baguettes and investigate.

The protests are about the raising of the age to be eligible for a state pension. Stop trying to talk about serious stuff, you aren't capable.

Do you seriously think every street in Paris is full of protests? Organised demonstration through a main thoroughfare. I repeat stop trying to talk seriously.

Last paragraph is good advice though, you and the rest of the libtards best use your hands for holding baguettes rather than typing your nonsense, just watch them fingers while eating though fatty :)

Fuel prices led to strikes about other stuff, but that was last year.

This year it’s about retirement plan reforms, and it’s not everybody in the streets, it’s rail transportation trade unionists that are basically going all in since almost a month

The thing is the way it is being reported here lacks information. I didn't even see video just a single photo.

Has it petered out after the weekend?
