SPACE FORCE Now Active

Just in time for Christmas, the United States Space Force was officially activated by order of President Trump Friday evening, making it the eighth U.S. uniformed service after the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Public Health Service, and NOAA Corps. The United States Space Force will have a mission domain giving it exclusive operational jurisdiction over exoatmospheric warfighting throughout the known galaxy. The U.S. is now the only nation on the planet Earth with an independent space warfare branch. Its website is https://www.spaceforce.mil/.



From 12:00 p.m. to 12:14 p.m. the Space Force had one person assigned to it, after President Trump ordered Gen. Jay Raymond transferred from the U.S. Air Force to the U.S. Space Force and designated Supreme Space Commander. At 12:15 p.m. the size of the Space Force increased to more than 16,000 troops after the President ordered the entire 14th Air Force moved moved from the U.S. Air Force chain of command to the U.S. Space Force chain of command. Space Force will begin independent recruiting operations in 18 months as it ramps up but, for now, will rely on personnel transfers from the other seven services.

Considering NASA off planet personnel have been hitching rides and the air force has switched to F-35s to save money...

Space Force might not be effective if China actually gets their act together and then refuses to sell any functional space ships they build if that happens,

Or if the US&A goes broke and simply can't feed those Space Force guys so they defect like the original rocket scientists.

By order of the President, the Air Force has surrendered several facilities to Space Force control.

“Effective immediately, consider yourselves airmen assigned to the United States Space Force” Chief Master Sgt. Scott J. King, Command Chief of the 45th Space Wing said in a video statement.

Honestly, i don’t know what to think about this. On one hand the US is anticipating space conflicts between nations, so ok... on the other hand it’s going to escalate and more powerful nations such as china will follow. Completely unproductive.
I would rather see nations work hand in hand in a global effort for space exploration. We are all one specie, and I would’ve liked to think that after the cold war with enterprises such as the ISS and international space missions.. that outside of our planet we could just all be humans before anything, working for our greater good. I really hope that the idea behind all this is not to be a threat ... maybe save humanity against huge meteorites on our way.. but I doubt it. It’s all about power and trying to get an edge on others. Trump makes me lose faith in humanity.
