The American public is 50/50 on impeachment. Strange for "so in-your-face blatant."

It is strange. I cannot explain why so many law-abiding citizens are willing to look the other way and give this guy a free pass.

I've heard many explanations, but none of them seem quite adequate.

Because you've chosen to let yourself be guided by kneejerk emotion rather than reason and logic.

We agree with the Rats that Trump "asked Ukraine to investigate Biden." We call on calm, reasoned fact - rather than the permanent hysteria of the chippering rodents - to note that this was not, however, "improper."

Fact 1. Whether or not the sexually deviant Joe Biden broke any laws, by all appearances his behavior - and that of his sister-fucking, cocaine-addicted son - was highly suspicious. Whether or not it was illegal it was morally outrageous. Law enforcement investigates suspicion, they do not investigate guilt; guilt requires no investigation.

Fact 2. The President of the United States is the chief law enforcement officer of the United States. All LEOs from the Director of the FBI to the lowliest federal park ranger, are commissioned in his name. The constitution requires the president to do whatever is necessary to see that the laws of the United States are executed and the decree of the founder makes him Chief Magistrate of the United States (Geo. Wash. address of 4 March 1793; the President shall "execute the functions of its Chief Magistrate").

Fact 3. Joe Biden is not above the law nor is he above law enforcement inquiry when his actions are of such an unusual and aberrant nature that they would raise the reasonable suspicions of a reasonable person, which is a wholly separate and lower standard than guilt or probable cause.

Fact 4. The level of potential crimes that had occurred was so high that no one, save the President in his capacity as Chief Magistrate, could reasonably have undertaken an investigation. It required direct contact between heads of state and the application of the sovereign power of the United States to retrieve potential evidence. Trump would have been shirking his duties if he had given Biden a pass because of the negative PR ramifications it could have had for Trump if a Rat leaked it (and, ultimately a Biden aide did leak this confidential security information all for the sake of harming the Trump campaign; subverting the national security interests of the U.S. so the Rats could see political gain).

This is why the Rats are a domestic enemy of the United States. They have subverted American national security interests for their own political gain. They are no longer a legitimate political party and, following Trump's 2020 victory, must be dealt with in the new form they've chosen to operate - as an organized Fifth Column attempting to destroy the nation from within.

Kenneth Vogel and David Stern wrote ...

Ukrainian government officials tried to help Hillary Clinton and undermine Trump by publicly questioning his fitness for office. They also disseminated documents implicating a top Trump aide in corruption and suggested they were investigating the matter, only to back away after the election. And they helped Clinton’s allies research damaging information on Trump and his advisers, a Politico investigation found. The Ukrainian efforts had an impact in the race, helping to force Manafort’s resignation and advancing the narrative that Trump’s campaign was deeply connected to Ukraine’s foe to the east, Russia.

After 2020 the President must no longer timidly operate in a judicial straight jacket. To allow a party committed to the destruction of democracy to exist is, itself, anti-democratic. The constitution is not a suicide pact.

I'm not agreeing with myself, those are facts.

“The U.S. has a national security interest in Ukraine, and it does appear that what the president was doing was putting that national security interest at risk in exchange for political benefits,” said Seidman. “If that is what happened, that is the core of what impeachment is about.”

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa- ... SKBN1YM1O8

Trump is also accused of obstruction of congress which is also impeachable.

The best way to lose to tump is not to underestimate him... it is to overestimate half of american citizens. You guys clearly have close to 45% of braindead crackheads and 6% of cynical rich guys taking advantage of your stupidity while the other 49% have to deal with morons such as yourself and cynical assholes such as saxi

betiko wrote:i just don't understand you guys. regardless of your political stand point.... how can you be ok with your president using his presidential status for his own profits and to rig the next elections through foreign governments? how on earth can you be ok with that? Is he your uncle or something and you have to defend him whatever he does? Do you really think no one from the GOP could be a better president than this guy? this is really fascinating.

Because he is not. Even if I didn't like him, that doesn't pass the smell test.

Let's take point number 1: Donald Trump is f*cking rich. Financially this is the stupidest thing he has ever done. Akin to Bloomberg becoming mayor. He has divested himself from his own company and no longer has any significant say in future growth. Mind you his children aren't too shabby at making profits themselves, so it's not like he's going to go bankrupt in eight years.

Now let's take the other side of the coin. How many people came into the Federal government with average means and are currently millionaires? Their worth shot up multiples of their congressional income. Wonder why? Biden's son got in a month, more than most people make in a year; from a foreign government and with "daddy" threatening that government if the prosecutor looked into the company that was paying his son. Go back further and recall when China was funneling money illegally to the Clinton presidential campaign (they had to "give it back" but did they give it all back).

So basically we see that point number one is bullshit.

Now take point number 2: Biden. If Trump was Romney I could see the point, but really a Trump / Biden campaign would be like going to NASCAR to see the car crashes. It's brutal. Biden could implode any minute as it is, can you imagine if someone actually poked him into instability? Please BRING BIDEN ON!

Finally point number 3: Yes, I don't think there is anyone better at the moment. Most of the major Republicans tend to bring knives to gun fights. They apply standards to themselves and allow the other side to use any standard it wants. Seriously, you hear them whine about how "unconstitutional" the impeachment process was, but apart from a few lame theatrics, did you see them actually stop it? Right now there is no one in the leadership with a pair of balls. There isn't anyone else who doesn't give a f*ck about what the liberal mainstream media says about him. Sure there are some in the wings, perhaps in another ten years or more, but right now? The majority of the party are still LOSERS.

Sure my all means quote COMMUNIST QUARTERLY.

In review, GQ primary reports on men’s fashion and lifestyle. They also occasionally report on politics with a left leaning bias such as this: Trump Promotes Conspiracy Theorist Who Says the President Is Like the “King of Israel”. This story is thoroughly sourced to credible publications such as the Washington Post and Pew Research. When reporting on conservatives, their is frequent use of emotional language such as this: How to Fix the Conservative Hijacking of the Supreme Court. Editorially, GQ favors liberal policies and almost always reports negatively on the right.

If there exists only one source, and that source is biased, then yes, I attack the source.
Hell, if you could give me an article from the extremely left leaning "The Economist" I would be happy. But I would prefer something from Reuters or Bloomberg on the financial side.

This is great. Is there an equivalent for people who think anyone who doesn't rabidly criticize China all the time is a Chinese government employee?

I would have, and seeing as Republicans spent 3 years trying to figure out if Obama was born in the United States (with no proof, mind you), I'm skeptical that the Republicans would have been ok with Obama doing actual crimes.
