I mean, here in Ontario it's illegal to sell beer to a 16-year old, but I always found somebody to serve me when I was 16.

I'm not quite sure what you're saying. That gun range owners are inherently more law-abiding than bartenders? Or that Texans are inherently more law abiding than Ontarians?

i guess Mr. Know-it-all needs US Law preached to him like he is ignorant of it..

- Selling alcohol to a minor is a misdemeanor offense, and are state laws.. Consequences for selling alcohol to a minor can vary depending on state law. They typically include some sort of fine, as well as a possible citation

- Selling a handgun or any type of a firearm that is other than a shotgun or rifle to A persons less than 21 years of age is a Federal Felony Offense. A typical conviction is punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment.

does Mr. Ducky understand the difference between a Local Misdemeanor & a Federal Felony..?

Yes.

Not sure when you started changing the narrative to talking about selling the gun. Hitred was just talking about going to a range to play around with one.

I tried to google if gun ranges do background checks if you just want to shoot a gun. The few links I found said 'no', but they didn't seem authoritative enough to link.

Federal law states you must be 21 to purchase, sell, rent or loan a handgun or ammunition.

--> RENT

he said he paid to rent it to shoot it on the range, renting one is under the same federal law as selling one...

renting a gun is just selling it for a specified amount of time.. and falls under the same federal law

Could counsellor advise the court on the date of this legislation? Because we used to buy ammo when we were pre-teens. Now you need a PAL.

well I was allowed to shoot a .22 & a 4/10 shotgun..

being a 10 year old who is allowed to shoot a gun & being a 10 year old who is allowed to go buy ammo are 2 completely different scenarios..

I was at a gun show in Corona, California and there was no ID or anything. You just paid for the ammo and you got to fire the gun. All the major companies were there, and they had some relic guns that you couldn't buy, but could still fire (like Tommy guns). I'm sure if you wanted to buy a gun there might be some ID checks, but NP is grasping at straws here. Renting a gun would imply taking it off the premises.

The point is - that's how gun ranges with rentals work, based on my experience.

And California is way more strict than Texas when it comes to gun laws (although Texas doesn't hold a candle to Alaska, the best American state).

By the way, that gun show is still ongoing 15 years later - https://www.turners.com/info/sports-fair

Notice in the ad there is at least one child shooting.

Oh yes, that clearly shows what you are trying to prove, which is " Federal law states you must be 21 to purchase, sell, rent or loan a handgun or ammunition. If you are between the ages of 18-21, you must furnish your own handgun and ammunition". Thank you for providing further evidence.
