Are Cartels part of Mexican Culture?

It's hard to imagine Mexican culture without Cinco Di Mayo, mariachis and Cotija. Should Cartels be added to this list? Are they just part of the neighborhood? Maybe it's time to stop living like the Mexican Revolution never ended as 18+ factions fight for local control. Maybe it's time to ask the public to view the cartels as something NOT MEXICAN. Something other than us.

In the end, economics wins. As long as there's as an insatiable appetite for cocaine in the U.S. and other rich countries, it will be far more lucrative for people in poor countries to move cocaine than to engage in any legal trade. And as long as that's the case, there will be wars for the trade.

Really only two ways to fix this. Either stop snorting coke, or legalise it and replace the gangs with legal, licensed supply chains.
