In the end, economics wins. As long as there's as an insatiable appetite for cocaine in the U.S. and other rich countries, it will be far more lucrative for people in poor countries to move cocaine than to engage in any legal trade. And as long as that's the case, there will be wars for the trade.
Really only two ways to fix this. Either stop snorting coke, or legalise it and replace the gangs with legal, licensed supply chains.
