People in northeastern Syria react to the withdrawing US troops and the deploying of Russian personnel.

The stone-throwing proves that it was purely a transactional arrangement; the only interest the Kurd has in the U.S. is if the Gravy Train is stopping at his front door. Beyond that the Kurd's interest and loyalty is zero. He can switch sides in just minutes, without batting an eye.

Good riddance and bon chance to the Turkish Army!

Interesting. I've exceeded my free article limit at the globe for this month, so I'll have to be content with the headline.

The withdrawal should be called "Operation Miss Muffet". Kurds and away.

For every one American hit by a potato, 10 Kurds should be forced to eat a zucchini.

That's how the Germans did it in Czechoslovakia.

I didn't say I disbelieved it. I'm quite happy to accept that it's a truthful report. Even if it wasn't, it wouldn't be an issue that I would waste a lot of time on. In the video it looked like beer cans, but it was a very poor resolution video. You say it was potatoes and you have an article supporting it, so I'm fine with that.

RIght, but while Syria is technically an Islamic nation, it's pretty secular. I've never been there, but I imagine you can get beer.

Incidentally Syria doesn't actually have a state religion, so officially it's a secular country.

Also while Googling that to check if I was right or not I found out the Norway, Denmark and England (plus a few other places) are still officially Christian countries.

The accent thing is going over my head. Sorry.

I guess yeah, the U.A.R. is a Soviet construct, so it would be officially secular.

I had to Google 'UAR'. Oh dear - the need for you to go on an international geopolitics refresher course becoming ever more pressing.
