The Green New Deal - Collectable Posters!!

Postby NomadPatriot on Fri Aug 30, 2019 8:51 pm

yeah..
now you can also show how much you support the Green New Deal introduced by Puerto Rico's finest. .
you can pick either the Globalist one with the satellites watching your every move
or
the naked transgender man w/ breasts wearing a bedsheet..

make sure you notice the trains elevate about 50-60 feet off the ground , above the tree line without any noticeable way to exit it because you are forced to walk or ride your bicycle everywhere the train doesn't go..

I wonder though.. when people get on the train.. what do they do with their bicycles...?

It’s kinda dumb of them to present this as a party political cause. It’s the future of the planet, but by making it an ā€˜our side’ issue they’re just alienating half the population and thereby decreasing the chance of their message gaining any traction. Which is sad, because the future of humanity isn’t really a party political issue.

Another body claimed by toxic US politics: the planet.

i would think the future of the planet would include a technology that would be eco-friendly. but it is not depicted anywhere. .. just bicycles & a single train.

no electric cars.. no 'flying vehicles' nothing convenient enough to be used by the individual. nothing technologically functional for the common human..

hopefully the future is not technologically reverting to the 18th century as depicted in the posters.

Promotional posters are usually not meant to inform or hold much substance. In marketing the rule is, the less information the better. I can't believe you got triggered by this, NP.

We are in agreement?

You mean you agree that Global Warming/Climate Change is a real problem?

Because that’s what mrswdk and I are agreeing on... I think you’re agreeing on something else.

I’m ok with public transportation. I’d be happy to give up my private car if we could get together and build public transportation that worked, was cost effective, clean, reliable. I know it can be done, but I don’t think the politicians can stand up to special interests. Is that what you’re agreeing with?

I didn’t think so.

I'm more fascinated with the idea of re-purposing old Word's Fair posters ... oh right ... old age makes the public domain ...

This is the standard 1964 NY World's Fair Poster

Which is really close up up the globe.

Apparently according to CITYLB the posters were designed by the New York firm Tandem but it is in the WPA style of posters so one might be forgiven (right, lame excuse Tzor) to think it was a re-purposed government poster.

in the cities I've lived in, you're allowed to take bikes on non-rush hour trains. lots of buses have bike racks, too.

helpful tip - do an online search for [local transit authority] bikes. It will usually help you find relevant information!

example https://www.mbta.com/bikes

buses..??

buses would not be eco-friendly enough for the Green New Deal.. + without cars .. then you would have to account for a massive increase in the number of train passengers & a massive increase of bikes being used daily..

a electric train would have to be able to accommodate a potential bicycle for every passenger. considering it would not be feasible to build high rise trains for every residential sector & business sector.

like in the 1st poster. the city is about 3-4 miles away in the distance. and there is a single train passing by.

a) Please show me where it says that in the job creation bill. What you posted about is some Andrew Yang stuff. Which will happen eventually, but we don't quite need UBI just yet. Automation and the need for UBI is a big 2030 problem. The fact that the world is dying and we need to create jobs to make it die a little bit less is a 2019 problem (if not like a 1995 problem, but, Congress, right?)

b) You think $1000 a month is enough to live in luxury? In the United States???
