Toronto is an ok sports town... but they haven’t won a Stanley Cup since ‘67?

Oh, and who beat then last time they were in the finals?
Ummm... that’d be the Boston Bruins!

Of the Original Six, Boston is the only one the Maple Leafs have never beaten in a Cup Final.

That was a question I had in a trivia contest I was in and I didn't know the answer. It's etched in my memory now.

Are you posting in the wrong thread? This was about wearing black, not about best sports towns. I get it across franchises Boston has done very well for a long time, but the celtics lost to the bucks this year. And Toronto just wiped the floor with the bucks.

I'm a golden state fan anyway, but we don't have any black jersey's. The grey ones are as close as we get.

Game One Boston
Score: Boston 4, St. Louis 2

One negative... Zdeno Chara got injured right at the end of the game. :(

Boston is now up 2-1 in games; Game 3 was a BLOWOUT that I did not expect, 7-2 win for the Bruins.....in case anyone missed the score.

Boston lost Game 4 by the score of 4-2 and may have lost Captain Zdeno Chara, too.
Zdeno Chara took a puck to the face and crumbled to the ice in the second period of Game 4 of the Stanley Cups Finals versus St. Louis. With the Blues leading 2-1, St. Louis’ Brayden Schenn ripped a shot that deflected off Chara’s stick and struck the him in the jaw.

Blood immediately started dripping down the 6-foot-9 defenseman’s face, but in an act of pure hockey toughness, he waved off the athletic trainer offering him assistance. He returned to the ice in the third period with a fishbowl facemask.

They are also down two other defensemen, too; NOT good for the rest of the Stanley Cup Finals.

The Bruins were already without defenseman Matt Grzelcyk, who entered concussion protocol after a hit sustained in Game 2 that resulted in the suspension of the Blues’ Oscar Sundqvist. Chara’s return ensures Boston has one of the best defenders in the league.

He didn’t play in the 3rd.

I know; I watched most of the game and the entire 3rd period. I hope he plays tomorrow (June 6). And the Guy under concussion protocol, Matt Grzelcyk.

Agreed; that no call may have cost Boston the Cup.

The Goalie for the Blues, Bennington, I think, played GREAT, however, and Boston could only score one goal against him, outshooting the Blues by some 39-24.

Toronto and K. Leonard go up 2-1 over GS Warriors, with two key guys injured.

No much to talk about with that other team that wears black anyway... didn't they just lose at home? History suggests St Louis has a 72%* chance of taking the title now (*stat based on teams up 3-2 in NHL finals)

Yeah, you can let statistics drive you... or you can be like Boston and regularly defy the odds, especially in the playoffs!

Red Sox vs. Yankee’s 2004

Don’t need to say anything else ‘bout how little we New Englanders pay attention to stats.

If you think I was ever a fan of Fat Teddy you’d be wrong.

If you want to blame all Massachusetts people for the Kennedy’s you have to blame everyone in the country for Trump regardless of how they voted. You also have to blame all of Canada for Bieber.

What does history suggest now that the series is tied 3-3 and the final game is home in Boston?

4 of the games were close... there were two blowouts, both blowouts by Boston.
