I was wondering how long it would take for this to tangent into the B.S. policy of women serving alongside men in combat....

Well so far they've deterred me from it.

It was being develped by the USA not for it.

#-o America isn't the only country with women in the army, idiot!!!

You are suggesting the Iraqi forces like those of most Islamic cultures have a pretty good mix of genders?

Edit: Even though it's quoted for the record, I somehow made up a strange word in my haste. I changed it out here anyhow.

We might have to use it for the Caucasians, if we can't use Omega Force*.

Why do we need a gay bomb? Send them Tammy Faye Baker, or better yet, send them Chuck Norris made up like Tammy Faye. Then send them gay news crews to surrender to.

Heard that it had no theme music. I don't think it needs one, though. Anyway, one more film I need to see.

I didn't mean theme as in musical theme, I was referring to what you said about just one failure.

I know. Hence why even while the cold war might be over, we aren't out of the woods yet.

Canadian Bacon, not a cultural reference point. Got it. Funny movie, though.

Read your history Iz. Ever hear of Boudica? How 'bout that lady in the Book of Judges?

But still, nobody wants their daughter, sister, aunt, wife and/or mother to be violated by a bunch of horny enemy grunts.

That depends entirely on the quality of the grunts

Boadicea. There's always the exception.
I'm no Theologian, nor have I read the Bible front to back, but isn't the story of Samson in Judges?
That was one of my favorites.

Understood. While I consider myself a Christian (raised Lutheran), I also am a realist.
Personally, I look at the Bible as a "why" things happen, not "what exactly" happened. IMHO, one cannot dismiss science, it defies logic.
That being said, I don't know why you'd consider the story of Samson "annoying". I think it has all the makings for a great movie:
Big, strong, invincable dude who kicks major ass, betrayed by a woman (go figure  ), gets his eyes gouged out, then literally brings down the house to destroy everyone.
I mean, c'mon, wouldn't that be cool on the big screen?

Already a movie - I spy. Eddie Murphy is Sampson.

The reason I hate it is because of its clicheosity.

Samson was in the Book of Judges. So was Debra, a prophetess-general.

And the Ancient Celts (ie: pre-Roman) commanly sent married couples into battle, the wife fought along side the husband.

Actually her name is spelled Boudica or Boudicca. Boadicea is out-of-date.

whatever. :?
It was how her name was originally spelled, and how she was referred to by the Romans.
Who really cares?
