There is a great documentary about Timothy Treadwell. Must see TV. For 13 years he lived with the bears of Alaska and believed he had bonded with them.

I don't know if this one is true but I like the one about the lady who told her veterinarian that her snake was cuddling and sleeping beside her. The vet explained it was trying to figure out if she would fit in it's stomach.

Good call on the documentary, HR- it's a great watch. Maybe less so on the lesson from it. I don't think that a filmmaker like Werner Herzog would even consider that it's something so simplistic.

My take was that Treadwell was naive in some ways, but much more complicated in other ways. He was obviously obsessed by the beauty of nature, but put himself in frequent danger. He spent a lot of time educating people about the bears, and their habitat.

It's an easy take-away from Grizzly Man to think that Treadwell was a fool, but that's like only watching half of the documentary. It's as if you watched an Ayrton Senna doc and your takeaway was that people shouldn't drive cars.

Not true. They enjoy the warmth. My boa slept with me every nite. Have a ball python now but room isn't snake proof so she needs to be stoopervized when out.

I've slept with various weird pets, including baby skunks and baby raccoons.

The weirdest thing, though, was an inanimate object - my shotgun. I was 14 and still very impressionable when I saw the Night of the Living Dead for the first time. Scared the shit out of me. I couldn't go to sleep without my shotgun. Slept with my shotgun for weeks. It's a miracle I didn't blow my own head off in my sleep.

Well, that left my thinking snake joke a bit flat.

There was a guy here that owned a pet store. He got a bunch of illegal venomous snakes taken away. What I found strange was, the snakes were given to someone who got a zoo license and put them on display in another town.

Never went inside Reptile world but saw it when driving through the town.

You should definitely read "The Spotted Band" by Arthur Conan Doyle. Basically, Sherlock Holmes and Watson cover up a murder they either commit, or help to cover up, and blame it, impossibly on a snake. It's much funnier if you read it that way anyway.
