no, i gave up collecting years ago.

The value in silver eagles…….is the MS 70……xample……….
1986…..$1300
1988…..$2400
1990…..$11,000 not a typo
1993…..$8800
1994,,,,,$9000
1995…..$3250
1996…..$7000
1999…..$11,000

From another blog I visit, I guess silver onces can be collectible too.

You should have grabbed a bunch of eagles as soon as possible this year. They are out, you could flip them right now.

Collecting is kind of rediculas. I'm not paying those prices but I would be ok selling.

I'm thinking of buying a slabbed ms-70 of a coin I want. You know there will be a ton of them if I over pay for one.

I'm going to go look maybe try to trade some stuff.

Maybe you can find a 5 cent pre 1920 canadian, as far as I know those are the only 1 gram silver pcs.

Finally watched the video. What are you in besides gold and silver.

It would be nice to ressesion proof our savings. Should I split it and buy silver with half?

Too much premium on any that someone would bring to a show I suspect.

I like the more modern nickels, I'll let you guess why, but there is no silver in them.

I'm just going to browse unless I find something I decide I want or can get an interesting trade going. Might buy something silver if it's close enough to spot, I doubt I'll see that.

Just buy spot when it gets to a point that makes you happy. I have a safe full of it that Ive bought here and there over 30 years. Sold a batch when it was in the high 20's that Id averaged $7 on buying to buy my kid his first dirtbike.

Heres the bullion I LIKE to buy but its at a premium. Do have some of my fave calibers ;o)

Do I need to post my rant on "taxing the rich" again from an actual tax viewpoint?? We've had a lot of these threads

I hope there is lots of cool stuff to see like that, not just mostly expensive graded coins. Though I do want to see some of those since that is what
I'm expecting.

I only recall seeing some 45 cal silver bullets before that picture.

@ 2 dimes "It would be nice to ressesion proof our savings. Should I split it and buy silver with half?"

standard rule is save 5-10% in gold, physical gold, kept outside the banking system as savings.

Silver is a different animal, you should consider silver as an investment.

Personally, I would not take 50% of my families savings and invest it in 1 thing.

The show was a 99% success. I traded a peace dollar for a 1900 Canuck dime plus five dollars. Then I sold three other peace dollars and bought a 25th anniversary maple and a 2016 kangaroo. I bought a rabbit nickel for a quarter. Finally I bought a half ounce sunshine round for $12. I was pretty excited even though I sat on my magnifying glass and broke the handle.

The only thing I missed was I found a few Morgan dollars with O mint marks but they were all $100 or more.

Edit: I totally forgot to look for pesos. Maybe next time.

Yeah, that was one I wanted, maybe the most, from the start.

So I didn't look at it very close. Bought it off the Timeless Treasures guy, trusted it would be perfect, it's in a square holder $27.

After I got home I started looking at it with a magnifier and thought I saw a mark on it. Then I figured it might be on the holder so I opened it up. It was on the holder and I was able to wipe it off gently with a dry glove, that was a relief but the inside of the holder had something in it and I think the coin has milk spots. I'm not even joking.

Maybe I deserve that for giving you so much grief, going on and on about milk spots here.

The shops here don't seem to mention milk spots when selling you a coin, maybe I'm the only one that cares about them. I thought they would be a bigger deal since to me any imperfection seems bad.

I would think if you had an MS-70 coined that developed milk spots or tarnish it would lose the grade but maybe not. I'm going to look online and phone around a bit maybe.

So far the only two coins I have seen with them are my Roo and my son's Crocodile, both Perth mint products.

I have been pretty carefull with stuff but might take that one out of the holder and play with it. That was why I like circulated coins better, they have been handled plenty so you can touch them and that is pretty fun. I don't like grungy coins though, so I won't play with it while eating saucy chicken wings.

Do you have anything with milk spots Red? I know you mentioned seeing it. Does it affect value or is it a non issue until higher grades?
