lol, scammed on gold, I guess thats a point, not a good one but a point no the less.
How many counterfeit wedding rings are out there? or ear rings? jewelry.
I think you might think about that from the counterfeit coin issue that was happening some years ago, they were sold over the net if I recall.
There was also a story about counterfeit bars that had tungston inside them as the metals are about the same weight/space.
The story turned out to be bogus.
But the vendors in this story simply wanted cash, they had no idea the value of gold or silver.
Mark dice does the same sorta thing, in front of a coin shop that will verify the metal or buy it outright, he asks people if they want a candy bar or a metal bar, even telling them they simply need to ask the coinshop.....nobody wants the metal.
Nobody will even ask the shop.
There is no way they could be "scammed" as it is free to them, but they are plain ol lazy and stupid.(3-4 steps from the shop door)
Like Dom says, for the price of a coffee that they may very well give away if asked.....................
I guess maybe its a "shock" thing.
99% of western people just have no idea the value of metal (I just thought europeans did)...............should the american dollar default on a 22 trillion debt they can never repay, they will find out in hurry.
