Even Fox news' poll says americans want taxes on the rich

It turns out that even Fox News can't find a way to hijack those numbers. The network's own polls, conducted at the end of January, found a staggering 70 percent of respondents supported raising taxes on annual income over $10 million. In fact, 65 percent were down for raising taxes on those making over $1 million per year.

On Tuesday, a pair of baffled anchors referred to this trend as a movement "against capitalism." It is a dubious assertion, because by that definition the U.S. has only been a capitalist country since the 1980s, when Reagan knocked the top tax rate even lower and conservatives convinced enough legislators that "a rising tide lifts all boats" was a substitute for economic policy. But in their efforts to find an explanation for why so many people are turned off by unfettered, unregulated, and unaccountable capitalism, they turn to Charles Payne of Fox News Business. His explanation: Schools have brainwashed kids with lessons about "fairness."

Taxing the rich is against capitalism.

What some people forget is that money has no home or loyalty to a country, if it gets mistreated it will simply go away.

Socialism seems to be a popular theory right now, the issue with socialism is that eventually you run out of other peoples money and the society crumbles.
Tax the rich all ya want, eventually they run out of cash and their business dies causing further unemployment.
No problem, everyone can work for the government, like the spartans did.
With everyone working for the government who would ya tax? what is that called?

Oh ya, communism.
A little "communism by the back door" maybe. u tube.

Crumbling socialist happens even faster when other nations do what they can to speed the "crumbling" along as in our actions toward Venezuela right now or what we did with the soviet union. The ever popular nazis were socialist. Yes they were fascists but you can have fascicst capitalists too.

I dont think that either system works, we need to find a system that works.

Maybe crazy, but I think finding that new system is the challenge of our time.

Maybe the Koran is right and the son of Mary returns and rules in peace for what was it? 1000 years? I forget.

That certainly is a slightly bizarre take on the history of the world.

Of course the not rich want the rich to pay taxes. Why sound surprised?

Tax tables are very simple - generally, from the feds, (married calculations, just straight taxes) 10% up to around 50 grand; ramps up to around 30% to 600 grand. After that, the more you make, the higher the rate maxing out at 37% (in the 15 millions).

However, anyone with this much income does NOT have reportable income in this manner....lol. A main problem is the capital gains issue; still in the 20's% and that is, generally, where a long term income source is for the wealthy.

Being a tax preparer for personal and corporate entities for 30 years now, I know very well the games on can play to massage taxable income. Thats just it tho....it cannot legally be HIDDEN, so if youre making money, its gonna show. Cracks me up that normal people pay their (lower percentage) tax, bitch about it but go forward. Its life.

The rich people always bitch FAR MORE because they look at the dollar figure of the taxes they pay (large) and see it as the feds taking money from their pocket. They DO NOT look at the figure as a function of their income / wealth. If we were to compare THAT....the taxes I pay hurt a HELL of a lot more than what they pay. I always try to politely point this out. Its a good fucking problem to have, dumbasses

Yeah, Joe Blow making 20 grand a year only had to pay 2 grand in taxes; Richie Rich had to pay 100 grand. Waaaah, thats so much money! Yeah jackass, but you can still go buy a ferrari with cash while I struggle to feed my family. Cry me a river.

Currently I see theyre suggesting taxing "wealth". That cannot happen. Fix the long term capital gains and the deferral rules. Excellent start.
