Thorthoth wrote:NO, you are both wrong. I will make two additional points in order to refute your errors.
1. There is a natural qualitative break between breads/buns/rolls that remain planar* (sandwich breads) versus bread products that enclose by wrapping (wraps)...
2. To not include buns and rolls as traditional sandwich breads is absurd. Such breads are fundamental to the concept of sandwiches, for example submarine sandwiches or kaiser roll sandwiches, Such specialties as bagel or foccachio sandwiches are also fully applicable as well. Not to mention ice cream sandwiches and even sandwich cookies. Let me add that open-faced sandwiches are merely a modification in which the top layer of bread is excluded.
To close let me repeat my definite definitions of both sandwiches and wraps.
• Any food enclosed inside bread or a roll is a sandwich (including hamburger sandwiches, hotdog sandwiches, kebab sandwiches, etc).
• Any food enclosed inside flatbread or a a pancake is a wrap (including burrito/taco wraps, kebab wraps, mu-shu wraps, etc).
This simple and non-arbitrary framework can function across all nations and cultures. We now have a universally applicable definition.
Plerase cease your petulant and futile arguments and accept that I am right.
How can human civilization move forward if such wrong-headedness continues?
The Sub Sandwich:
contains 2 separate pieces of bread (top and bottom), as is the cheese burger

The Gyro/ Kebab etc.:

are referred to by the name sandwich, however are clearly a subset of the taco:

Just because it is called by the name sandwich, does not make it a sandwich, any more than being called a berry would make this a berry:
