What language should the EU adopt after Brexit?

Postby saxitoxin on Wed Mar 29, 2017 8:30 pm

Theresa May announced that England will charge £50 billion per year to the EU to use English after Brexit. What should the EU do?

Oh the EU should definitely stop talking. Just shut the f*ck up. In fact, it should pretty much be a rule that every single politician in the world just shut. the. f*ck. up.

Germany's going to invade everyone again in about 5 years so they might as well all learn German now.

I've always wanted to learn Magyar, so I voted for that.

Didn't some like ultra-progressive Europeans invent a language? Shouldn't they be using that one?

Nobody speaks that language.

The answer is English, but louder and slower. It's the only way to get them to understand.

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker took a swipe at Britain on Friday, saying he preferred to give a speech in French because English was becoming less significant.

"Slowly but surely English is losing importance in Europe," Juncker told a conference in the Italian city of Florence, drawing laughter and applause from his audience of EU officials, local leaders and Italian students.

and so, slowly but surely, europe is losing importance on earth

What a shit lord  complete troll post my dear. Obvious that french should be the only choice. The language of love and diplomacy. What could be more perfect? Makes a better choice than english, the bastard child of too many possible fathers.

lol, the exact same thought I had when reading his comments. Like anyone cares what a bunch of Andorran aristocrats think about anything.

Everybody speaks their own language at the EU parliament you fucktards.
By the way, french is the official language in the olympic games and in the world cup.

I know most low life fucktards in here are too stupid to speak more than one language and don't even have a passport. The EU owns your butts!

EU= smarter, more effective, better life quality, higher incomes, higher education, higher life expectancy, more attractive and we're not as fat as you guys.

Is betiko plagiarising a Juncker speech or a French PhD thesis? I can't tell, but seems it could be either.

Pretty sure Canada wins all those categories over the EU. Sweden may be close though. We may be fatter than the average EU member.

Not the dog in Person of Interest. It followed Dutch commands. Capable of defeating advanced Artificial Intelligence, with the help of knee-capping Jesus of course. That was a pretty cool dog.

I'm pretty sure dutch uses a ton of English loan words, like splinter. I'm still waiting for my cheque for that one. I've given up hope that the Papacy will pay me for all the Latin loan words from English and those damned Greeks keep defaulting on my loans to them.

It's probably closer to German, IIRC. Most major languages use a lot of English loan words nowadays, but then English is a malleable language, and relatively easy to pick up. The point of the dog's commands though were that they weren't English words, so they were unique commands, not easy to accidentally replicate unless taking down a ring of pot-brownie dealers working out of Amsterdam's notorious cafe syndicates.

Anyway, that's enough about Person of Interest.

Has anyone suggested Esperanto?
