Sorry just can't behind the lynch of Samlem, I believe he was just joking about his name being Ed,and I believe his claim because I have basically the same claim.

Since I don't think mitch would be defending this much if they were both scum, I'm inclined to believe them. I'm starting to wonder if Kwan has the same role that he has been softclaiming by plying the way he has... but my vote stays on him for now

You think that Kwan has the same role as Samlen, so in order to find out if this is true your plan is to keep your vote on Kwan in hope that he'll crakc under the pressure of your one vote?

Who knows, maybe he ends up saying something like:

Skoffster & Flores, I could really use some posts two players who know what to do when someone jokingly admits being scum, after claiming a vanilla no-name role under pressure, after spending the whole day throwing off scum-tells and advocating No Lynch.

@Samlen I am very open to considering new things. In fact, I am currently drafting an instruction booklet for new players entitled "Ignore Scum Tells: Why You Should Never Vig Someone During Day One". Would you consider writing the Introduction or should I ask DDS to do it? It's Day 1 so it's not like he would need to diver his attention away from playing.

Soz, I don't entirely follow the reasoning on Sam. Sam is playing the same way he does every single D1 so to turn that into some theory of scumminess on his part doesn't make sense. I don't buy the joke thing as evidence either, as I know I for one have tended to do that when town and on the chopping block. I don't really see an issue with the claim either, as I don't think everyone got a nifty character in here. It's already apparent that several people here are in the same boat as Sam in that regard.
And Mandy, considering I am the one that said Vig's should never really shoot N1, I can't help but be offended.


I am more suspicious of Benga, DJ and Kwan.
Both Benga and DJ for seemingly just going along with everyone else, posting questions that don't really matter and seem to just be fluffing their activity.

This is why I think Kwan may have a post restriction in order to better reflect his character from the movie.

Mandy is playing a very aggressive game right now, and while I know that his usual playstyle is similar, I think it's a key strategy to seem pro-town and not to have many people question him. Especially when his posts are part-argument and part-mocking. Both people he has gone after he's gone after heavily, with 100% confidence. I don't know if Mandy actually believes Sam is scum, or is just a day-vig.

You got me thinking there for a second with the post restriction theory, but how then do you explain his gazzillion word rave against the evil of Skoffin? The way he's been playing makes me think of that one role that Nag surely didn't put in the game. The one with the funny hat.

Maybe a Cop could check out on Kwan during Night 1, but first we have to cap off a good Day 1

Granted it's been a loooong time since we were in a game together, but from memory this is how he plays. That humongous post early on from him was actually quite the break in tradition.

I almost missed this nugget of hypocrisy. You know what is would be a great way to increase people's particapation in this game? You post two more times. When the number of your posts in this game reaches double digits that miricle is going to be celebrated with fireworks and dancing in the streets!

I know when most of the older plays were here (several years ago) we would make post restrictions just for the lulz, without any regard for how it would actually play out. I don't think nagerous would do it but I can imagine it would be right up ga7's alley. Plus, if they really wanted to keep true to the movie, then one of the hyenas would have one to reflect on their ease of following directions while not being very coherent.

Alas, looking over kwan's post kinda shows that he doesn't have one. Too varied.

Given what mitch and some others have said I'm going to Unvote. While I am naturally suspicious of all townie claims (or more rather they aren't that much of a risk), I personally believe that Sam is town. Think about it this way. With everything that Mandy had been pressing against him and given how these games go claiming a nameless role townie seems like a suicide play. The only reason I could see a scum could think that would be a valid strategy is if

A) The mods told them

B) Sam was able to guess that was true from what mitch said. And while mitch did gives some hints they weren't that strong. Sadly this is the issue with mitch softclaiming all the time because if Sam had done his claim first I'd have much more reason to believe him. As it stands it's more of a guess that he's good.

While I do think the things that I brought against him still hold, there are other people who I'd rather persue at the moment. If need be I do think he's an acceptable target but I don't think he's the best target.

Personally the people I find the most suspcious are Flores and any other lurkers who aren't posting, DJ who seems to be going along with the crowd and not posting much. I think only one of his posts showed anything strong in it, and Kwan who also seems to be following the crowd in a weird way. For now I'll Vote: Flores and hope that she chimes in soon.

I'm sorry to put you on the spot through no fault of your own, but since this would de facto counterclaim Sam, I have to ask for clarification: Are you saying that your character is unnamed in the original movie but you have have been given a name, along with the species (something like "Barbarian Steve" in MM's Civilisation Mafia)?

3 scumsters (Scar, Shenzi & Ed (since limp biscuits seem unable to get a simple Day 1 decision right and lynch him)

8 or 9 characters from the movie ( Lions: Simba, Mufasa, Sarabi, Nala, Sarafina (Nala's mom, possibly left out but unlikely since there are so few named characters); Zazu, Timon, Pumba and Rafiki)

If no additional paw or hoof is raised, we can assume that the original three (DDS, Kwanton and Samlen) are proven townies.

2) Starting from DAY 2 three random players out of the remaining 12 (decided by the first 3 numbers drawn for EUROJACKPOT (there is a youtube recording of every drawing, which is why I think it's the simplest public randomizer to use) mod 12, 9, 6 and 3 (on Days 2, 3, 4 and 5 respectively) CLAIM THEIR NAMES. If they lie, I assume that counterclaiming is within everyone's mafia skill set?

3) If there are more the 3 vanillas alive after Day 1 ends, I humbly suggest that Cop pick his target among them.

4) When claim-counterclaim does happen, if we have been blessed with a smart Day Vig as opposed to smart JOAT, he/she can wack the guy who claimed first right away and, if he flips Town we lynch the accuser. One dead Townie for 1 dead Scum = good for the Town.

5) Finally, regarding the whole "Play the game, not the setup" thing - put me in a game with 15 real players who really want to play and I would be absolutely delighted to.

1-2. This entirely defeats the purpose of remaining ambiguous. Awesome plan, but as Hotshot said, the moment vanillas claim, you're basically painting a giant red target for everyone with a power role. I don't think scum would even consider picking a power role, why would they? Why does this feel like town hunting as well?
Let's assume Murphy's Law doesn't come into effect and our cop survives the first couple nights to investigate roles, we're still banking on the fact that he investigates the right target, consistently. We're also assuming that a Doc would know who the cop is and protect him each night. Given the amount of players in this game, it kind of narrows down the target list.
Would you rather have the cop come forward now and play "Follow the Cop" and leave the Doc hidden until we find the scumsters? That makes more sense to me, everyone is left ambiguous at that point and we simply wait for results. Either way, your plan is to sit and wait for the cop to reveal himself, assuming he doesn't get offed in N1, rather than have him come forward now and guarantee protection.
Disclaimer: I'm not asking for the cop to come forward now, but if we follow up with Mandy's plan, I think it's better for the cop to reveal at that point rather than wait for the counter claims to happen on Day X.

3. I sincerely doubt scum would waste a kill on a confirmed vanilla. What incentive would they have from killing someone with no other ability other than a vote when there's a higher chance to kill someone with a power role?
