... different parents Laughing I'm not gonna say better parents because as long as they're different and as long as they're not abusive then that would be fine, my parents are one of a kind so I know I won't get the same types Wink Laughing
As I always say, you can choose your friends, and you can choose your family too...

No offense to that guy who shared that he didn't want to share his regrets, but why bother posting it in the first place? :S

It's actually quite strange that you should start a thread like this, Dar, 'cause I've been doing some soul searching in the last few days. In my Communicate class we have to give a talk about something we're passionate about, and it made me realise that for the last ten years I haven't been living, I've only been existing, and that I make excuses for absolutely everything. What I would change (which I am now putting into action) is that I am in control of my own life, and I don't need to rely on other people to make things happen for me. And if things don't happen the way I want them to, then I have noone to blame but myself.

And good point, Anarchist. I have been so obsessed with earning money and saving for my future, that I've forgotten to live in the here and now. What's the point of retiring rich, if you haven't experienced anything while you're young? While I'm still conscious of saving money for my future, I'm now making sure I have the means to enjoy my life now.

Oh! And no, the UK doesn't have a President, but it does have a Prime Minister and a messed up Royal Family :P

Its a very dangerous game to watch your life float buy with out partaking in it. I have seen several people here do it and its a shame.

Its good however that you have realised that and better yet done something about it. Living life is far more important than anything else. Who wants to get to their deathbed wondering what if?
Not me

I think it was a penis thing. Wisse is pretty hung up on his genital inadequacy... I can appreciate why he might not want to talk about it in great depth here.

So you can laugh heartily in the faces of your descendants while you squander the enormous amount of cash that you have saved, which they had wistfully dreamed would be their undeserved inheritance?

Yeah, pretty much the same as everyone else here, We're all on computers as we make these comments, so as a 'world perspective' I suppose none of us can complain.

But, yeah, as far as england goes, maybe below average start to life economicallly, I had no inheritence/support, had to scrap my way to where I am, and as mentioned before the adverse condiitions add to your character, practicality and resourcefulness. I kind of feel a bit sorry for people who havent had the same experiences as myself.

But no, I wouldnt change it for the world, But I would like to emmigrate, England is not what it used to be.

Considering some of the stuff i got up to when i was younger, i'm lucky i never ended up in prison, or just another drugs death statistic (as some of my friends did), so i'd have to say......yep, despite the crap that has happened to me, life is kinda peachy :D

My life is... meh.

I'm doing OK all things considered but often it just seems pointless, living each day for other people and not yourself.

I kind of enjoy it, I know how fortunate I am to be in the top tier of the world's population when it comes to possessions...
