So I love it when an artist pens a song in response to another previous song. My Fave example is Sweet Home Alabama which was in response to Neil Young's Southern Man and Alabama......which prompted, in part, one of my fave songs, Molly Hatchet's Gator Country....which ripped on Skynyrd's Sweet Home as well as Charlie Daniels, Richard Betts, Marshall Tucker and the Outlaws Classic.
Also dig songs written in response to an occurrence...Neil's Four Dead in Ohio, in response to the Kent State massacre, is one of my faves..touted as one of the most potent protest songs ever.....heard in an interview that he wrote it in less than an hour.
"Gypsy told my fortune...she said that nothin showed...."
