A Trump enforcer has told a meeting of Republican congressmen they no longer belong to the so-called "Reagan party" and now must think of themselves as foot soldiers in the populist, Trump movement.

A source briefed on the House GOP whip meeting — which Moore attended as a guest of Majority Whip Steve Scalise — said several lawmakers told him they were taken aback by the economist’s comments.

“I think it’s going to take them a little time to process what does this all mean,” the source added of the lawmakers. “The vast majority of them were on the wrong side. They didn’t think this was going to happen.”

“Just as Reagan converted the GOP into a conservative party, Trump has converted the GOP into a populist working-class party,” Moore said in an interview Wednesday.

“Trump’s victory,” Moore added, “turned it into the Trump party.”

I have no idea what the Republicans are as a party at this point, but they basically control all levels of government, assuming a Trump appointment to the Supreme Court, right?

Not just the Supreme Court, White House, Senate, and House - Republicans now also control the governorships of 31 states and the legislatures of 32. The Democratic Party has completely collapsed at all levels.

Looks like Trump appointed a few women.
Looks like it doesn't matter anyways move on to the next minority all the way down to 'will Trump appoint a LGBT??'. Symms mind isn't gonna change because it's never enough for symmm , the shadow of greed that is.

All that seems to matter to symmm is that people are selected based on skin color, selected based on sex. The shadow of the purest racism and sexism that is

Speaking of Barron, look how tall he is - supposedly Donald is 6'3" and Barron is almost to his shoulders and he's only 10!

Wait there are 2-3 appointments to the supreme court coming up right? Why stop at just Baron, let's get Ivanka and Tiffany on the SC too!

Elaine Chao has just been nominated Secretary of Transportation by Trump.

Image

That's two women in the cabinet (Secretary of Transportation, Secretary of Education), and three women holding cabinet-level positions (those, plus UN Ambassador). Plus, one of them (SecEd) is an ugo so it's not like he's just appointing women he can grab by the pussy.

There are 10 cabinet positions left to fill; if Trump appoints just one more woman he'll have tied the number of women currently in Obama's cabinet. If he appoints two he'll have bested Obama.

On the contrary, I'm genuinely fascinated by the whole appointment process. It's contrary to how Trump campaigned, and it's interesting to see how it differs now that he's been elected.

I'm cautiously happy to see him make so many U-turns.

I'd say I was wrong about the rhetoric from both sides, I suppose. I thought Trump would be a radical, appointing outsiders and rejecting Washington insiders based on his campaign. Of course, that was wrong.

Clinton's campaign obviously portrayed him as hostile to women and minorities, which has also been proven innacurate too.

I think I was fooled by both campaigns, if you want something sig-worthy.

Senate Democrats are facing growing pressure to break the white male stranglehold on senior staff positions in their ranks. Activists are shaming Senate Democrats, noting that the chamber’s only African-American chief of staff works for Republican Sen. Tim Scott. And civil rights groups are holding a public conference call on Thursday to escalate their campaign for more diverse hiring by newly elected senators.

If you think bringing in Ben Carson is a diversity move, you are wrong.

Ben Carson is a Uncle Tom aka Uncle Tom. A subservient to the White Overlords who keep the Black Man/Woman in his/her place.

Symm, keep your uninformed British @ss to European politics.

That might influence him? Other than Steve Bannon, IS there anyone who actually influences him?
