If riding a bicycle around campus sucks get a designated driver instead of driving drunk. She is ignorant of the fact she could be dead and that might be worse.

I have been thinking of building an electric bicycle since the cool ones I like are $5k us. Crazy expensive.

What frame are you using. I'm wistfully thinking of going with something interesting but it has to be comfortable enough to use otherwise I won't ride the thing.

electric bicycles are gay. I still ride my '99 kona explosif hard tail. I love it so much I picked up a spare frame on eBay about 6 years ago now for about $1200cdn. a little high, yeah - but it's a collectors item now. a very sought after frame, Reynolds 853. I even put thumb shifters on it, because they never f*ck up. it's almost too beautiful to ride...

You're one of them! I've always wanted to ask why would you ever spend $1200 on a fucking bicycle. It makes no sense to me. I bought one off craigslist for less than a hundred and it works just fine.

It's like paying $200 for a steak or something. It's absurd.

I spent $1200 on the spare frame. I think I paid around $1800 for the full bike, back in '99, tho. I would guess I've spent around $5000 on parts/upgrades for it since...
I dunno, some people like to buy clothes or vehicles or old vinyl. I happen to like old kona hard tails...*shrugs*
in a weak attempt @ salvaging my online reputation w/u, I can honestly say I don't own any Lycra and i've never worn a helmet. we cool, brah?

jesus christ.

I'm just a cheap ass, I don't spend too much on something if I can find it cheaper. The most I would spend on something would be for its function. For instance, I need a new truck, so I'll have to shell out some dough for that. Or for hobby stuff, I would like a nicer banjo or fiddle, but if I got something newer, it would have to demonstrably much better than my current ones, and even then, it would be the cheapest in that range. Like, I would never buy a Strad when there are plenty of moderately priced violins that sound much better.

Don't worry about your reputation with me, bruv, llamas always get a pass.

Well, my Kona Explosif is almost ten years older than the one llama claims to own. I bought it new, I never serviced it, I rode it pretty hard on bike paths, off them and on a few mountain trails, I have not been under 200 pounds since years before I bought it. It seems to ride like new. I am basically shocked I have only broke one chain being way to heavy for a regular bike.

I once shattered a rear sprocket on a bike I bought for my dad, it was pretty close to new at the time. I have wanted to buy a new mountain bike but could never justify spending enough to properly replace it because of how well it still works.

So it was one of the best purchases I ever made at around $1200. Adjusted for inflation and with subtle upgrades it is probably similar to buying a new Kona for around $4k.

Though, in your defense, I saw a couple of pretty nice Konas on kajjiji yesterday for under a grand.

I want that lady to pay me, to gather her data and try to make me hangout with the stalker that keeps riding near me.

Interesting how there is a 90 year old high end bicycle company I can't remember hearing about. Must be a symptom of how out of touch I am with road bikes.

I would ideally like something that looks like the vitiate electric and is really comfortable. I probably should just get back to riding my Kona more often.

A state lawmaker filed a resolution this week urging people to think before they text and stop using an emoji of the Chilean flag, which resembles the Lone Star State flag, as a symbol of Texas pride.

However, "His resolution does not carry the force of law" which means that legally, the Chilean flag is still a symbol of Texas pride.

I've heard of Texas-style Chile.
