I'm not trying to be annoying but I feel like you just did directly below say you were only told what you were..Anarkistsdream wrote:I was never told the types of pokemon... Only what I was...

The1exile wrote:I'm an idiot. I see what you mean now. I still don't see why it precludes you cl;aiming another pokemon of the listed types, however.
The1exile wrote:but it should be trivial to invent a pokemon name of an alternative, preferably without type advantage, so I'm not sure it holds up completely. Maybe we will get word of mod though.
The1exile wrote:Also, if trainers already have a pokemon (the prevailing theory I believe) then they presumably already have this info, although i suppose maybe they can't talk yet.
dakky21 wrote:Actually, I was claimed before D1 officially started, during the confirm phase. I already confirmed and then was notified of a plot twist. My trainer had to choose one Pokemon from the list while not knowing who is playing behind it. That's how I got chosen, I guess it could have been any of the other wild ones. And I'm pretty sure there other trainers and other claimed pokemons just not wanting to reveal that fact.
Anarkistsdream wrote:kwanton wrote:Then we have Nark who said he wasn't told anything. My original assumption was that ALL players would have been told the number of types of wild pokemon since that is such a central mechanic to the game. But it seems like that is not the case.
My guess: Nark and Exile are trainers of unknown alignment.
I never said I was not told ANYTHING. I said I didn't know how many other types of Pokemon there were... I know what I am strong and weak against... I know I am weak against two and strong against two types... But, does that mean that there are only five types? That was not directly written in my PM...

Why, Kwanton, you old so-and-so, you KNOW I am just going to keep saying the same thing...
A wild Pokemon. Just like everyone else.

If the answer is no, do you reckon Mandy has made that possible anyway?

As for my vote on skittles... I understand that this is based on gen 1 and I also understand that team rocket were the villains in gen 1. I am not saying that team rocket are a charity organization.. all I'm saying is that we cannot know for certain that mandy followed conventions and based this game exactly on the anime/games. It is too dangerous, especially in a game this size where we're bound to mislynch a few times, to jump to conclusions about faction as early as day 1. In the wheel of time game that just ended 4 townies died before everyone was fully convinced that our original assumptions were wrong. Only someone who is scum would know for sure that they were scum. So if they are in fact team rocket, it makes sense to talk about how bad team rocket are in order to earn town cred. And yes, I am also jumping to a conclusion about skittles, but certainly at the time of voting I felt that it was at least on par with the other top lynch cases if not better, since day 1 typically involves quite a bit of guessing.

In that case, please confirm with Mandy that your PM is correct. What you are saying and the information I have in my PM conflict. There is no reason for wild pokemon to have a difference in the mechanics section of their PMs. The only options are you are being untruthful, you read the PM wrong, or Mandy did not send you the full PM.

What difference in mechanics is there? Two types you are weak against and two types you are strong against, plus your own type... The fact that it did not say there were ONLY five types of pokemon seems to be the only thing you are grasping at... And that isn't mechanics...
