Well, this is precisely the point. When Christians (Catholic or otherwise) engage in evil acts, they are hypocrites. You can point to their hypocrisy and call them on it and it's a powerful tool. Most people are vulnerable to moral suasion and in fact the Church has often brokered cease-fires and truces with nothing but moral suasion alone. Jesus was this gentle pacifist who preached kindness and brotherly love, and although there are plenty of Christians who are not kind and loving they can always be called out on it.

You don't have moral suasion as a tool when asking Muslims to lay down their arms. Mohammed was a warlord who preached subjugation by force, and Muslims who kill unbelievers aren't being hypocrites. They're doing exactly what their book commands. Despite all the nonsense about "ISIS isn't Islam" the truth is that ISIS is precisely Islam. The leaders of ISIS are very devout men who spend a lot of time studying their scripture and doing things exactly the way they think Mohammed would have done them.
