I'm rooting for Wales, called it for them to beat Portugal 2-1 in our office pool.

and no, is not fair, and is ridiculous that a team that has not won a single game is in semis, but at this stage, "underdog" teams usually chicken out, as they already did quite good and motivation to go through is less strong, while bigger teams has the extra motivation to not lose against the underdog, as France vs Iceland.

I don't agree. The motivation obviously gets higher when you re the underdog and you go the extra mile. But the further you go, the less you can surprise your opponents and the more they take you seriously.

You agree with the bottom line. The bigger name will prevail in later stages. I still think that Iceland and Wales, after achieving an historical (for them) semis in the Euro cup, can go with a huge smile back home even if they didn't make it to the final, which will not happen to France or Portugal if they would lose, and I think that makes the difference.

Good luck against Germany. It will be a "soon" Final. I think Germany will win, but France has been strong in the last 2 matches, so lets see!

France has been pretty strong since we kicked out benzema and we put Giroud as 10, Giroud has scored 12 goals in the last 12 games; players like Griezman and Payet are taking more responsabilities since Benzema is out.
We haven t played well during the first halves, but in second halves we dominated (except for the iceland game).

We re beating Germany tonight. I m confident!

I think and hope France will beat Germany. They stand a good chance with all the injuries the germans have to deal with after playing Italy.

I think Germany wins. France really hasn't played anyone of consequence yet this tournament.

I had to go big and bold to have any chance of winning my office pools, so I've gone 3-1 to Germany.

Come on the hun.

Giroud's break was pathetic.

LOL @ Germany. First Boateng, now Schweinsteiger. Don't they know it's football, you kick it with your foot?

You can't blame Giroud. He's a targetman, not an advanced forward. Most strikers of his type are poor dribblers. Just look at Dzeko and Benteke for instance.

Vive le France! good won! my mind said Germany must win, but i was rooting for France, so its nice.

also, Giroud is a really shitty player. Luckly you have Griezmann to save the day.

Well, I think that France will be the champion. Lets see!

you can blame Giroud. I don't remember him winning one header in the box all game (although he was close on the second Griezmann goal)

he's slow and is very unskilled for a forward.

Also, I'm saying this as an Arsenal and France fan...I almost never attack players on my teams like this

Glad about Wales. Shame about Germany. I hope Portugal win. Ronaldo didn't celebrate either win against Wales or Croatia, but spoke with his Real Madrid teammates.

I m not sure someone whose country GOT eliminated by iceland and who looks up on Wales should even be entitled to post his opinion!

Anyways... Said it the other day... We beat germany and we lose against Portugal. I see it comming.

I'm hoping France wins now. Would be good to win at home. Also, I think seeing Ronaldo cry would make me laugh more than seeing Ronaldo happy, so for that perverted reason I hope Portugal loses. And Ronaldo's celebrations bother me slightly more than Griezmann's little dance.

Typically when I watch sports, I chose who I want to lose more than who I want to win. I enjoy hate-watching sports if my teams aren't involved.

If Ronaldo can't continue, that's awful. I don't want to see Portugal lose because of an injury, and as much as I may not be a fan of Ronaldo, I appreciate his talent; he's one of the greats. I certainly hope he can return and continue to play well. This sucks.

The moth was strangely funny. Just a weird moment.

Those are not the tears I wanted to see. This fucking sucks. Hate to see a guy leave because of injury, regardless of who it is.

As a neutral football fan, I bored my ass off. Okay, kicking Ronaldo off was kinda lame. Unnecessarry perhaps, dunno if Payet really intended to get him off the field entirely, I doubt it. Still, it seemed like Portugal wanted penalties from the start, but got so Lucky to hit a shot that the French could've had if he was standing correctly.

Oh well, Portugal won. Hurray, some kind of upset!

Well that sucks to be right. I said it on wednesday... We beat germany we lose against portugal. Thought we would lose on penaltys.
That s when you think about the posts and all the crap. It's very painful to lose a final in injury time/penaltys.

Portugal did to France what France did to Germany. Play a very defensive game and take advantage of the few chances you get

Sissoko was really good, Gignac almost won the game in regular time, Greizmann had chances but couldn't convert any.

sucks to lose to a Ronaldo-less Portugal though

also, it's "penalties" betty
