he's really been outsmarted by Conte.
I don't know what's up with this guy but, what happened to Eric Gerets? loved that Belgian coach when he was in marseille 4-5 years ago.

He retired I think.

I'm from Croatia. First I didn't believe in this setup, but after this game with Turkey, I am starting to believe we can crush anyone. If Czech falls on Friday, we will beat Spain as well and it could happen it ends with a ridiculous result like 3-0 for us or something like that. We will all know more after Friday.

I'm literally cheering for everyone other than France. Though, not because you're picking them, I was anyway, BUT NOW IT'S PERSONAL.

Sorry betty.

The one thing that I kind of don't like about the world today is that countries actually exist. I hate how eople judge me because I'm from the United States. It's not about being American, or Madagascan, or Japanese, but just being human. Oh wellz.

f*ck you Serbia! AoG, you're my favorite tyrion!

regarding Italy: yes, I wasn't expecting that from them; but as always, when i don't expect anything from them they go against the odds. Yes, it looked like a shit team, and yes the hadn't been playing well in the previous month. Sjnap, it's easy to come around and make fun of stuff we said a month or 2 ago when you hadn't and you are not taking forecasting positions on anything.
So tell us... where do you think Italy can go?

I think i made my point. Just read my notes again if you want to understand it.
To call players as Buffon, Chielinni, Barzagli, De Rossi, Marchisio, Verratti, Bonucci, Candreva, Florenzi etc etc as shit players is simply disrespectful and idiotic.

I dont make predictions because i know football and especially tournaments are unpredictable. Remember Greece. Alot depends on many factors.
There are many teams in the tournament wo can win the cup. Atm 24 can. I will not call 1 of them as shit team.
Italy ? I dont know. Maybe Sweden and Ireland will be their last games. All is possible. But still i wouldnt call them a shitteam. Respect for them i have alot. I rest my case.

I acknowledged that the term "shit" was maybe a tad extreme, but don't be overly polite either. Let's be honest here. It's not because Northern-Ireland is among the 24 teams at this eurocup that you have to mention they can win it. Nobody, not even the N-Irish believe that.

ps: If you don't like making predictions, then just say so, but using unpredictability/uncertainty as a useless excuse. Obviously people have fun making predictions precisely because there is unpredictability factor.

for the record... Verratti has been injured for several month and isn't participating in this eurocup, a guy like thiago Motta is in very poor physical condition back from injury, and a lot of the guys i this list of 23 are in a terrible condition. This is what made me think that italy would do shit. Not the players on the paper, as this isn't supposed to mean much if you have the majority of the team that isn't at its best individually. I don't know, just look at 2010 and don't tell me they didn't have a better team, they didn't pass the group stage and couldn't beat new zealand.

and yeah... you can respect all 24... since you're not in the 24.... the year it was the easiest of all time!

2010 was a great year to root for france in a world cup!
people still talk about the strike the players started because of anelka in the middle of the world cup. That was more shameful than any result, also, they went to that world cup because of thierry henry's handball.

Did you ever believed Leicester City will winn the championship ?
Greece, Kaiserslautern and more showed us that football can be crazy.

And why you both keep on telling for predictions to make ? Is that where the topic is about ? Is it obliged ? I am not allowed to come in here to make a post about something disrespectful/idiotic you both said ?

Anyone can make predictions as you 2 guys make. Everybody knows who are favorites and and about odds for the teams.
That isnt very hard. Also you guys switch everytime predictions. Wauw =D>
I too think France, Germany, Spain are the big favorites. Very good outsiders enough who can win the cup. England, Belgium, Portugal, Croatia etc etc. It isnt that hard.

I am a football fan. I like to watch football. I like to read about football.
I am not a big poster on CC for several reasons. My english isnt that good to discuss properly and also takes why to much time for me.

I already regret i even posted in here. Keep on going. As i said i like to read about football.

The thing that annoyed is that you took the moral high ground and immediately afterward showed nothing but contempt with your remarks about predictions. What's wrong with having fun doing so? Your vain attempt on ridiculizing it because in your head it's illogical is quite frankly insulting, especially because it's hypocritical on top of that.

I do wonder do you also refuse to invest some savings on the stock market because it's unpredictable? Do you also refuse to take bank loans because the future of your employment is unpredictable? Do you refuse to the game of poker with your friends because the game is unpredictable? Do you refuse to play risk on CC because games can be unpredictable? Don't come here with your false logic, that none should make predictions purely because there will always be an element of uncertainty.

verratti was injured when I said that, and given how important for PSG that was, I knew italy would suffer a lot from that and from Pirlo's retirement.
You don't get what I meant though... sure italy had a lot of ups (including stealing the 2006 world cup from the french and winning 2 world cups when no one cared and it was only for mussolini's propaganda.... even uruguay won 2 at that time).

In the WC 2006, the italian football was all involved in the moggiopoli, and no one was giving a dime about this team... but that's when they managed to be mentally very strong
In the 2008 eurocup, they just went to quarter finals losing against spain in a well fought game
In the WC 2010, they were defending their title with most of their stars still in the team and they didn't pass a very lousy group stage with new zealand
In EC 2012, a miracle happened and they went all the way to the final, but then losing 4-0, the worse defeat ever in a final. They were pretty shitty that year, no one was expecting them and no one would've imagined to see them beat germany in semis.
in the WC 2014, they didn't pass the group stage and even finished last with most of the players you're talking about.

So yeah, 2016 they still didn't really managed to change the old generation, the team is mostly stinking old with a lot of injuries; so yeah this team isn't a great italian team.

That's pretty lame for a dutch to support italy with the history your national team has, unless your mum or your dad is Italian, LAME!!!!! :P

I've enjoyed France vs. Albania. Albania might have deserved a point, but let's remember the game is 90 minutes, not 89.

I'd like to know when Mr. asshole (aka Cristiano Ronaldo) will shut the f*ck up.

I'm a Belgium fan btw, and I can also be anti-ronaldo. His words were just as usual.. a disgrace. Fucking overrated prick!

Well thank you :P

I completely agree with mr Pirlo. Was a great second half to watch. Also feel little bit sorry for Albania. They did it well according their possibilities.
They were also unlucky vs Swiss. They have a better team then people think. I hope they will win their 3rd game. They deserve it.

I feared albania much more than romania... Albania has beaten france twice in the last 3 years or so.
I m very disapointed with france. We are getting lucky and we are not playing well. Our defense is really concerning, that I knew, but we aren t attacking as well as I thought in the friendly games.

Pirlo, I accept to give you a belgian passport for this eurocup since you re not european

I m pretty sure you can go to 1/8 of finals with just 3 points. Albania will have a tough time against romania though.

Today we ll have a pretty interesting wales-england!

I must say, it astounds me how much the French squad actually resembles the Belgian squad: injured defenders, depends on individuality, striker seems to play on an island far too often, too many senseless lateral passes, vulnerable on the counter.

Perhaps bad timing considering the discussion, but I wanted to say writing Italy off is foolish. They don't have any current world stars, apart from Buffon, but their team is full of good footballers and they function well together. Italy of all nations knows how to defend and how to hold onto a 1-0 lead, whereas a lot of the other challenging teams are weaker in this position.

In work today we got beers and watched the game against Wales. I'm so glad we beat them, f*ck me. I didn't see the Russia game but I read about Kane being slow and off the mark. It was frustrating to see Hodgson start the same team but we looked okay first half. I never wanted Kane or Sterling to start and they both came off, that was great. Both substitutes scored the goals too, so hopefully Vardy and Sturridge will start against Slovakia. 4-4-2 is what England does best and Hodgson is being stupid. Kane isn't good enough on an international level to be a lone striker and he seems exhausted from the last two seasons. Rashford to continue coming on as a sub with 20-30mins to go would be ideal, adding fresh energy and unpredictability. He looked good when he came on today.

Mourinho said recently Rooney has been England's best player for ten years and I agree. People criticise him now but they're comparing him to the wonder boy he used to be. He's evolved as a player and off the pitch may seem quite dumb, but he reads the game as well as anyone else. His movements, control, positioning and possession are still world class. It's a shame he plays attack midfield now but it's kinda necessary with all the inexperience we have across the team. He is the key to the England team. If we build off this Welsh win and keep up the moment and the team glues together, we could go far.

Warning! Belgian passports will also put you under terrorism scrutiny. I'd kindly refer you to a German passport instead. Merkel accepts everyone apparently.

Why is there a huge contrast between Germany's first and second games? :-k

I've been noticing this since ever, especially in the world cups!

I can expect a dildo attack in any stadium now.... :o

Poland is actually really good. I hadn t thought that much about it but... Both games were convincing.

I thought they were quite weak in defense in both games to tell the truth. Looks like they can create ocasions easily when they re looking bad and are quite good counter attacking. But yeah... Not very convincing so far.
