No comparison between America and China was intended. China has only become the focus of this thread because the trollbots (Mets, rishaed, Gabon) want to throw out a nice, distracting strawman so that people stop talking bout 'murica. The comparison I had intended was America (and North Korea) compared to everywhere else.

I suppose I could go look up some other things like median incomes, constitutional protections, mortality rates, etc., but...

Or economic inequality, cost of healthcare, quality of public schools, homicide rate, political atmosphere etc.

Or incarceration rate :>

Seriously though, what's with the weird remarks referring to me since you've come back?

Should I feel special?

Just putting it out there that you have a problem; you should feel special. Hopefully you won't respond and we can discuss incarceration rates around the world... but...

Hmm, baiting much?

Did you have a look at my link above? Seems pretty pertinent to the discussion.

Baiting? No. I would be perfectly happy if you did not respond to me.

In terms of your link, I did not click it. I'm well aware of the amount of money involved in running prisons. Did you have some specific thoughts on that other than "who profits?"

It's a little odd that you refer to me, while hoping that I don't reply, but that seems to be your problem rather than mine.

I'd have thought that evidence of who profits from incarceration would be relevant to the discussion. It certainly seemed relevant to me. What else would you prefer?

Yes, referring to you and hoping you don't reply is my problem, not your problem. However, when you then respond, that becomes your problem. Your lack of self-awareness is astounding.

I'll ask the question a different way, since you've refused to answer it (and I know, we're all shocked). Why is "who profits from incarceration" relevant?
