yeah. The civil war there is because of France, USA, UK and my grandma.
Nothing was going on with Bashar before the whole shit went berserk, and there wasn't a refugee crisis 2-3 years ago. Go suck goran's testicles you chinese yes man.
Within the first year of the conflict starting the US was giving aid to the Syrian opposition worth about $1 billion per year. If the US had not gone charging in to prop up the rebels, Assad would probably have crushed them years ago.
And you are correct, there wasn't a refugee crisis 2-3 years ago. It is well-documented that the refugee crisis started in 2015.
lol. Are you like saying that Bashar's opposition was daesh?
A whole part of the civilians were getting butchered by Bashar, then daesh... why do you think they've been fleeing the country in such horrible conditions?
Bashar's exercize of power against his dicidents was absolutely shocking. The international comunity couldn't just watch and cross their arms.

Yes, Obama has been stoking tensions with Russia
Yes, Obama has been supporting conflict in the Middle East
Yes, Obama has been working to suppress China's rise
Yes, Obama has expanded the American military's program of extraterritorial assassinations conducted using drones
No, Obama is no different to any of the others
This is why I couldn't care less whether Clinton or Trump wins the presidency. If Clinton wins, we can expect all of the above to continue. If Trump wins, probably something similar. Big deal.
you are seriously delusional. I mean it's cute to see younglings such as yourself taking interest in geopolitics, and liking to think outside the box with that exchange program in china you did.
But stop mixing everything. You seriously hear a crackhead like trump and think.... yeah, probably can't do worse than Obama! Do you really think Obama did a worse job than w bush? better said... do you really think that w bush did a job as good as Obama in terms of foreign politics?
mrswdk wrote:Like that matters. What's the party going to do to stop him if he by far and away wins the nomination race (which is looking pretty likely)?

Every newspaper is already predicting that if Trump fails to consolidate the republican moderates he won't stand a chance against the full force of the democrats. The republican party, as it is now, is polarized in two camps: people who love trump and people who hate him.
betiko wrote:what would have he done? probably not invade Irak pretexting weapons of mass destruction BS, which led to the inception of daesh.
And I have absolutely no problem with sending troops to Afghanistan after 9/11. That's what we French did... not in Irak that had nothing to do with the whole thing.
Trump said that he would "kill the family of those isis people" so he is in favour of war crimes. Not sure Obama would ever even think of such idiocy. I can't do much more for you as you prove on various subjects that you are a bit too /b/

Am I missing something? It seems to me like the moderates either get behind Trump to take on the Democrats or deliberately sabotage the Republican campaign. Why would they do the latter?

He's expressed his love of Putin a few times, if I remember correctly. Plus Putin would walk all over him in any kind of Realpolitik situation.

You sure? One of the symptoms of narcissism is that they are willing to cause their own downfall as long as they don't lose to somebody else. Put that in a political context and you've got an ugly mix.

Sure of which? He's certainly backed Putin:
http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/dec/20/donald-trump-defends-vladimir-putin-endorsement
In Realpolitik terms, Trump comes across as a short term thinker- a populist. Putin plays a longer game and has the advantage of being a politician a hell of a lot longer than Trump. The Donald plays to the media, Putin controls the media. The Donald hopes that business experience will translate into the political sphere, Putin has actual experience.
He's already in awe of Putin, and he's unlikely to match him in experience. For Putin, an opponent who is already offensive, even during his primaries, to the rest of the world is not gonna be much of a player on the world stage.
Trump is a novice.
