Lmao and even then the title should have gone to Prince who could hit the same notes as freak and could actually play a mean guitar reminiscent of Jimmy not as good but damn site better than the freak who got the title. And let the hating begin.
sorry... prince is the GREATEST ever... hit to the 3:30 mark, he plays the f*ck out of My Guitar Gently Weeps... like it had never been played before... throw in his freaking stage presence and the guitar toss at the end, and he is just THE BEST EVER... period...
and hit the 2:15 mark of this... face f'ing melting... it gets REALLY nasty at the 2:58 mark... god...
prince... is... god...-Jésus noir
p.s.-i LOVE harrison's son just sitting there in amazement... and you know he has some great playing!!!
owenshooter wrote:let's just get it over with... this encompasses all that is great about rock n' roll (starting off with that kick ass Chuck Berry jump stop groove)... and i will exclude all the great black artists that INVENTED rock n' roll, because i know Bernie Sanders is too narrow minded to have listened to or be familiar with most of them... so, here you go... rolling stones, of course:
and if you haven't seen 20ft From Stardom and heard the story of Gimme Shelter being recorded, you are missing out. You have to picture a pregnant Merry Clayton in a mink coat with a scarf on her head screaming "RAAAPE, MUUURDER!!!!," with Mick Jagger going nuts in the background. I had never picked him up shouting/clapping in the background, until i heard it on this documentary (2:20)...
since we are talking about "white rock", i'll leave it right here... however, i am SHOCKED nobody threw out STRANGLE HOLD, one of my fav songs to play on the guitar~!!!
the black jesus has educated...-Jésus noir
p.s.-sent Duk a PM about MJ and his greatness...
Bernie Sanders wrote:Owenshooter....STFU! You have no idea what kind of music I love. Been to more Rolling Stones concerts that would add up higher than your IQ points.
In tribute to our false Black Jesus, I present one of the greatest Stones songs:

Seriously? First of all singer and vocalist are probably the same thing (although I'm no musician). So it seems what you're saying is "none of your bands have an awesome writer and vocalist." And that's ridiculous. I vote you are thrown out of this thread.
Also - I shamefacedly forgot the following:
James Hendrix (lead guitarist and singer)
Eric Clapton (but mostly Cream - "Tale of Brave Ulysses" is one of my favorites) (lead guitarist and singer)
Alice in Chains and Soundgarden (if you like some of that grunge)
Clutch (super underrated and might be my second or third favorite band)
Foo Fighters (of course)
Some newer stuff I enjoy: Avenged Sevenfold, Black Keys, White Stripes, The Hold Steady, Rival Sons

(although probably too short), Killing in the Name Of, pretty much anything by Tool but I would go with The Pot or Aenima, Enter Sandman, um... let's see... Alive, Dissident, basically anything on the first two Pearl Jam albums.
Definitely not rock songs (and thus disqualified)- anything by Michael Jackson, Imagine (and pretty much most anything by the Beatles), anything by Bob Dylan.
