a recovered "masterpiece"...

Postby jonesthecurl on Mon Oct 12, 2015 5:28 pm

SO I was nearly done with finally completing my novel "The Dragon's Run" several years ago, when it turned out that I couldn't read the old file on my (then)new computer. Now I can, so I'm putting the darn thing out there chapter by chapter.

Enjoyed that....nicely written....coming from a guy with a reading problem  Read at least 2 books a week (ususally more) for over 40 years.....and only found a couple Englishy words that threw me! lol

What I would like is a synopsis of the story like one would find on the back cover / inside flap. Can't really tell what the venue is....time, place, etc....

Thanks Jonesy....you deserve much credit =D>

I hope you plan to revision it. I'd very much like reading the chapter completely, but right now it's rather off-putting.

Enjoyed that, its been years since I bothered to read anything, it gives me headaches now, but that was a good beginning for a novel, well set up, when does it go on sale?

So, here's an attempt at a blurb for the book. A revised version will probably be added to the Wordpress site at some point.

In the world of Vendilia, the title of "Warrior" is a title to be envied. With that title comes wealth and privilege. But it's not a title that's easily earned - in the absence of wars, the only way to achieve that coveted status is to survive the Dragon's RUn, an ordeal of unknown nature that those who survive will never talk about.
Legend has it that once, in ancient times, there was a woman warrior, though many think now that this is only a story. But now it seems there is a new and mysterious woman wiling to take on that ultimate challenge.
But she's not the most unlikely candidate...

Oh, and chapter three is now up.

https://thedragonsrun.wordpress.com should take you to the site. if you have trouble navigating between the chapters, ( it's not that obvious how to)

chapter one is at

chapter 5 is up.

It seems to be ordering the chapters oddly. When I get a few minutes I'll copy it all in the right order so it reads properly.

I was gonna keep up the pace and add chapter eight, but I'm in the wrong place and this computer also can't read the file. I'll be back on a computer that can at the weekend.

Not got a password for WordPress. Not sure how many others have. You're first few were readable, but the recent ones need an account for me.

Not entirely sure how the whole thing works. I am intending to rationalize the whole thing (so far) and put it up in the right order as a single entity. May take a few days, I'm gonna be away from this computer attending the curlette's big acapella contest and looking after the curlsonette (granddaughter) while the parents do a few things.
Also, less than two weeks before I relocate back to Cali!
