By my quick count, tonk is at L-3 and charm is at L-4... So, storr and aage, you are the two big movers who haven't decided which side you'll be on yet... storr seems to be leaning towards charm, which way are you leaning aage? I don't know that anyone else is going to challenge them for the lynch really.

That was the most plain talk we've seen out of mitch all game.... in a game this large it's possible to have a back-up doc I guess, still really weird all his prior claims, but if he wasn't getting lynched before it's less likely now.

aage wrote:It's possible that both GT and Charm are scum... If GT received a wand when Charm was disarmed, that must mean that either Charm did have a wand and GT did not have a wand, OR both are lying.
If both are lying, it doesn't matter who we lynch.
If GT started the game wandless, I am more inclined to believe his claim. The only scum flip we've had so far is Ragian, who flipped Bellatrix but we received no information about wands or spells. Since it only is logical to connect Bellatrix to the cruciatus curse, Storr's theory about multiple scum being able to use any spell is plausible. That theory would also explain why GT can't cast spells with Charm's wand - it doesn't have a specific spell, like MP's wand. (Yes, with Strike's claim I assume both he and MP are town and telling the truth.) All of these facts and theories suggest Charm is the scum in this duo.

However I'm not keen on lynching a scum that does not have a wand. If Mtam's ability works every night, I suggest we just remove all the wands from the suspicious people so that the mafia can't use any of their powers any more. Lynching a wandless mafia doesn't cripple the mafia as much - it just decreases their numbers.

I'm gonna look back and see who presented the false dilemma between Charm and GT as today's lynch. I still think we should lynch Mitch - there's no way his completely incoherent claim is legitimate. Odds are you'll hit scum on Charm, but Mitch still has a wand and is still dangerous.

Just realised a possible problem with the plan above. Mtam, when you disarm someone, does the wand go to a random wandless player or to a random wandless townie?

What I would worry about in regards to charm somehow getting the wand back is if she lied about dying if she didn't hit scum. The only time that I can find two deaths was on a night that a town and 3p player died. So presumably if she has the vig power she did not hit a scum, and therefore does not die if she doesn't hit scum.

Pretty sure he said random. Be broken as f*ck otherwise and he would not be pushing the guy who showed up with a wand.

Yeah I don't think Mtam could know anything about my alignment from me getting a wand by him disarming a player.

My hunch would be that people probably cannot do much with wands that they receive just based on HP flavor and the fact that we haven't really seen evidence of more deaths or people popping up with investigation results or tracks or anything like that.

Well, wolfs are my favorite animal, in fact I had a wolf howling at the moon as one of my business logos and I've made a stained glass wolf too. I'm confident that Strike will be able to see the truth.

@GoT - I asked over and over who had my wand and you didn't say anything. now, everyone thinks I'm bad, when all I really am is desperado!

I had to be reminded by a mod that I actually had a wand. If i could have gone back and done things differently I would have, but I really did not for a second think that it was a disarmed situation and that I was stopping someone from using an action.

Did you never have a chance to use your ability at all?

If you are town and you're wand does what you say it does it's a huge risk to try it at this stage. I don't get why you even want to. If you had a strong enough clue as to who was scum why not make a case and lynch them. I don't get how having the wand changes your ability to know who is scum.

I didn't use it for that exact reason. I knew I was only going to be able to use it towards the end when it would be clearer who was scum.

strike wolf wrote:Charm, what do you feel you have done to help town catch scum?

Well, using my wand/spell/message was going to be my biggest contribution. To date the only thing I've really done is helped to lynch Raigin, and that is the only scum we got to date. So, I would say I did something right. I couldn't vote Day 2 because my vote was stolen and Day 1 I didn't agree with the lynch chosen and it was town. So, though I haven't done much, what I have done has been good at catching the only scum. Also, I've stayed out of the long crazy back and forth that was caused by others - that was a huge contribution.

And finally, you know I'm fun to keep around and I think I'm the only girl left. :D

Re: [Official] Harry Potter Mafia - Signups - 3/??

Postby strike wolf on Tue Jun 23, 2015 11:02 pm

1. StorrZerg
claim: Filch wandless survivor.
Read: Still appears to be what he said he is. Slight possibility of scum. No possibility of being town.

2. Marashu
Claim: Hermione Granger-Town Doctor. Spell Protego
Read: I believe Marashu. We are a little short on protective roles for a game this size and unless the poison ability died with Ragian he is definitely not scum.

3. got tonkaed
Claim: Luna Lovegood-Formerly wandless VT; now has a wand he can't use.
Read: I think he's scum. Given the information I have regarding picked up wands, it does not make much sense for him not to be able to use it. VT does fit with his behavior on the Skillfu lynch. Not so much on the Sempai lynch.

4. mtamburini
Claim: Confirmed as Harry Potter

5. Endgame422
Claim: Mundungus Fletcher-wandless VT
Read: I am leaning scum with him. He bandwagoned most of the game and still doesn't appear to be contributing much original thought.

6. Streaker
Claim: Professor Flitwick. Weird 2 night busdriver role.
Read: Neutral. I could easily talk myself either way right now but the truth is I don't have a good read on Streaker.

7. aage
Claim: Horace Slughorn-wandless VT
Read: Slight scum read at this point. I didn't like either his or Streaker's push on Mudpuppy. I liked his early play for the most part but he has been involved in strong pushes against multiple townie cases. Buddying up to Storr could have been a move to get one of the more vocal voices to tread away from him.

8. virus90
claim: Neville Longbottom-Wandless VT
Read: I am going to go slight town here. It is possible he miscounted the votes and was trying to pull a fast one where Madmitch was mislynched and his "unvote" was meant to be taken as a town backing off but not realizing it was too late but that's kind of WIFOMy and partially depends on Madmitch being town. Seemed to forget about the secret vote at one point in the day. Possibly means he's not mafia but not as strong of a tell as it was yesterday with Storr

9. madmitch
Claim: Ron Weasley-Back up doctor.
Read: I've pretty much given up any attempts to read Mitch today. If you guys want to do it. be my guest.

10. dazza2008
Claim: Proffessor Trelawney-Wanded Death seer (person she visited has alignment revealed on death).
Read: Neutral. I actually find the claim somewhat believable but after a quick skim reread, I have renoted him as something of a bandwagoner.

11. MudPuppy
Claim-Nurse whatshername. Episkey-specialty doc (wand stolen)
Read: He is town.

12. HotShot53
Claim-dudley? wandless VT
Read: I am leaning scum. Don't like his claim and have mostly felt he hasn't contributed much throughout the game.

13. dd515087
Claim: Hagrid Wandless VT
Read: I am reading him town. His claim fits and he has not been as blatant as I usually find him when he is scum. Contributed a solid case on Endgame that I feel should be relooked.

14. charm
Claim: Troll(e)y Witch-One shot vig. Penalty death with failure.
Read: Cliam makes no sense in my mind. She is most likely scum. Contributed little to town and defense of what she has contributed was weak.

I am sticking with what I thought for a while now. I think GT and Charm are both scum. If I had to choose one right now, I would say Charm is more likely scum and would be slightly more comfortable with a lynch on her.

For the record, my weakest scum reads would be Hotshot and Aage and therefore by default as much as anything else my strongest after GT and Charm would be Endgame.
