Just another in a long list of actions by this "Dictator" to consolidate power.

ROFL, the "people of Venezuela"? What bullshit is this? The "people of Venezuela" support Chavez. They elected him and they support him - he consistently scores around 70% in opinion polls. It's the American goverment that doesn't support him. They see him as a dangerous opponent of American globalization.Avron wrote:helmut wrote:How was it illegal to refuse to renew the station's license? It is the president's decision. Why do you go around posting rude crap? They support it because the people of venezuela think its illegal you twit, if the people of the country don't support their leaders action then that is immoral and illegal, the people should rule not the man.

Try not to be a lemming. Do a little research, and develop your own ideas instead of mindlessly believing everything Fox News tells you.
I agree, I just don't like this blown-out-of-proportion "outcry" about rights for a corrupt private TV station.spurgistan wrote:helmut wrote:ROFL, the "people of Venezuela"? What bullshit is this? Yeah, but there is a legitimate opposition (even if 70% voted for Chavez...) and even if it's mostly a pro-American corporatist agenda, they deserve to have their views represented.

I think the only reason this made news is that U.S. interests don't like Chavez.beezer wrote:luns101 wrote:helmut wrote:How was it illegal to refuse to renew the station's license? Well technically, he didn't say that it was the fault of the U.S.

I'm in that 72% that doesn't approve.

As posted in Hate venezuela(with a few additions)
What the right fails to mention is that their license expired, they knew a long time ago it would not be renewed. The RCTV is accused of supporting the Coup a short time ago. Playing Cartoons and stating that Hugo had stepped out of office when he had been kidnapped by a group with americas support. What the news fails to report is that RCTV is already operational under a new name(TVes) and in the hands of the public.

There are still several TV stations in the hands of a few private investors(who also speak openly against Chavez)Along with several mines and factories aswell. Dont worry capitalism isnt dead in Venezuela yet,but soon all of Venezuela will belong to the people. All of it must eventually be bought or confiscated and given back to the people of that country.
To be short
I support the bullshit that Chavo is saying
I don't support the bullshit Bush is saying
