legitimate adware or hacker activity?

Postby uyumaykimaw on Wed Jan 28, 2015 11:59 am

Whenever logging onto cc today and whenever opening a new cc browser tab I notice that my Norton security program is blocking attacks from PUP/Adware/Fake Application Download 4

Actuallly I find that these attacks are constant today from that source when I am trying to take turns in a game too.

Is this adware that cc allows to generate some income, or is this hacker activity? The "Fake Application" part of the address leads me to think that this is hacker activity rather than legitimate adware.

I suggest you run a full sweep on your computer and have Norton quarantine and delete: http://www.symantec.com/security_respon ... asid=27898

I agree. I don't have any problems with adware. You probably got infected somewhere else and the adware pops up depending on what type of website you visit. This is not unusual. I had a friend having the same happen to her whenever she visited a shopping website.
