I Have A Friend On CC (I'm as surprised as you)

Postby Risktaker17 on Fri May 25, 2007 9:22 pm

Subject: When you use the game finder to see how the games of a friend are going it says whose turn it is like it does for your games.

Body: I have a friend on CC and I often like to check how his games are going and he and I advise each other on what we should do (His advice is usually better), so its annoying to have to check one of his games then go back to the game finder check another etc. I just want the green dot, yellow triangle and red square thing next to the active games you look at in the game finder. So call me lazy I don't care, I just think this would be helpful.

Priority: 2, yeah this is helpful but it truly isn't that important. Just saves a few minutes.

P.S. Sorry if this has been suggested I checked the To-Do list and I haven't seen it.

Well, friends list is on there, and you could always get greasemonkey.

I thought Greasemonkey counted things. I just want the cool little symbols next to the names of all games not just your own.

Well, if you were to get Greasemonkey and the Conquer Tell band-aid, you could just put in your friends name and see all his/her games.

O well I can't have Greasemonkey so is there a chance that Lack could do it. It doesn't sound that hard

This is actually a good idea. :)

It wouldn't be too hard to program, and it makes a lot of sense to have it.
I like it.

Try conquertell.

Its in the user mods section. You can type in other anyone's username and check the status of their games.

You just have to have firefox.

That's why Risk has sugested it here. Not everyone can get firefox, nor anyone WANT to, so greasemonkey and whatever add-on that can be found is NOT always the solution.

If it is so good, why couldn't it be placed directly on the site when lack has the time to do so? It would help EVERYONE and would free your comp of a program. Or more than 1.

Now..I actually like this idea. I had the same problem when I tried to teach a friend how to play.

How about the little bar in the game finder that says "With Player" and you type the players name in?

Go back and read. Really.

He is asking that the symbols ( green dots, red squares, yellow arrows ) shows up when finding games that are actives. So, when wanting to check on a friend's games, you know which ones to go instead of going to all of them until you find the right one..

What if he doesn't know you're watching him? What if he is not on and want to see what he could plan for games in which he has a turn to play?

PMing would take a long time and he'd have to give me 4 different game #. I guess I could do that but that is not the problem. I just wanna know when his games move so I don't have to check them all. Just saves me a few seconds.

It doesn't even seem that hard to do. But hey I'm not that good with really advanced stuff so it might be but if they can already do it for your own games why not for other games.

Not happening. It takes a lot of processing to figure out whose turn it is (catching up expired rounds and stuff). If you did a search for all active games it could put quite a load on the server to process them all...

Risktaker, you may not know this, but the server can be quite slow at times. If we had somebody searching something like this, then the site would be at a snails pace all the time. It would take you 30 minutes to take a 5 minute turn. And that would be on a good day! So stop trying to guilt lack into this. Capiche?

Lack i have a fairly personal request. I've requested a few ideas but none have ever gotten flat out rejected in their title. So I ask you as a cheap non-premium player that just takes up space and wastes your time to put a large *REJECTED* in the title. PLEASE CAN YOU DO THIS. surprisingly I'm serious and not sarcastic.
