if that was the thought process, you failed beyond belief... it is a pile of shit on my computers now (desktop/laptop) and not even worth attempting from my phone, ipad or kindle... just a colossal fail... great job... the black jesus has spoken...-el Jesus jesus
p.s.-thankfully have not had a seizure from the flashing screens yet...
Don't know about that. There have been quite a few bugs and problems, as there are with every new release, but one by one we get them sorted out.
There was a very annoying problem with the "skip to next" button not working properly. Took some hours, but it's been fixed and works properly.
A lot of people have reported clickies not working, but for the most part we find those were people who still were using version 4.17 of the add-on clickies. Version 4.20 works fine for most people.
There was a bug for some people with the map not showing up. For the most part everyone I've talked to has had this bug resolved now.
There are still more bugs, but those were the big three. They have all been resolved now. The others are being actively worked on. About a dozen people have reported this "flashing maps" syndrome. So far the developers have been unable to reproduce this problem under test conditions. We're waiting for one of you flashing maps sufferers to go to the Bug forum and give a really detailed description of what hardware and software you are using so that this can be investigated further.
A lot of people have ridiculed the idea that the system now tells you what colour you are, but actually there are many people happy about this. People forgetting what colour they are, especially in Polymorphic games, has been an irritant to many, and this helps them fix that.
Myself, I'm happy that the text map now has its own panel separate from the main group. I hated having to toggle between the stats and the text map panels. Now I can see both at once.
It's also a very good and long-overdue step that the basic Help legend has a tab in-game, especially for new players, whom I think we all agree should be given easy-to-find information.
The main target, mobile customers, are for the most part giving very positive reviews. Of course, there too a multitude of bugs have had to be hunted down, so the experience wasn't positive for everyone, but of the people on mobile platforms that I've seen either post in the forum or PM me, the reviews are running about 70% good, and among PC users the reviews are probably somewhere around 50/50. Of course as the bugs get fixed we hope to raise that ratio higher.
You can see that process at work in this thread. People like Aslan and Chris Pond have come here very pissed off that x wasn't working or y wasn't working, and as their problems get resolved they come back and post that the universe isn't quite ready to implode yet.
And, some very nice things that people have pointed out in this thread:

I'm hitting a few snags getting round - I'm not yet clear if that's my fault or bugs. I've been getting frustrated with how different the user experience is across the 4 different devices I play on, maybe this will make it easier. I'm willing to give this a fair try, hope everyone else is.
PS getting the map full screen without any annoying text-y distractions in panel mode on the iPad is great.

i just did and i have to say it's great. the floating menu is awesome, especially if you play on a small display using a large map. i can scroll wherever i want and the menu just follows me. also telling me what player i am and colour coding all that stuff is perfect for poly games (cause i'm a noob that never played that kind of game before).
