You could try ripping off that 'Destination' game?
A friend of my parents invented it and now they're minted. Based it off of taxi-drivers I believe; and it'd be a good one for school-work because it can be easily modded to fit any geographical location.

All you gotta do is sketch out the board, mod the rules just a teeny bit to avoid detection; and boom. You're golden!

Hokey Dokey.... here's a link to the rules:
http://www.rtlgames.co.uk/destination-ther.html
But right now I can't find a scan of the board for you... It's called 'Destination Portsmouth' in its original incarnation; but there's a 'destination London' now, and I think she's releasing a 'Destination Hogwarts' one with the next book release (got the rights to that recently, damn lucky bitch).
Good luck!

Oh no....here's a scan of the board

You'll need to create a junk member account to get the bigger scan though (and there's plenty other pics to inspire you).
Hope that helps in some way...

it might be hard but you could try and design a game of battleships based around springfield and you get to place simpsons characters on the board for others to try and destroy
