See, this is why I love Trench. In a non-trench game, one player gets a lucky roll and runs the board. In trench, that lucky roll is good for literally one battle, then everyone stops, takes an assessment of the board, and continues playing. You are always given a chance to think and develop your strategy, and recover from bad drops and rolls.

Right! In trench a good move does not win the game (as it should be). In trench you need to develop a full strategy planning ahead many turns, and develop that strategy over the course of the game. Trench is a lot more strategic.

To counter the thread title: trench is the only reason I did not leave this site.

not to be combative, but I really don't get this... "develop a full strategy?"

how is trench complicated? hit everything for max deploy, don't expose stacks until you have what you deem to be a decisive advantage, and control choke points... literally takes about 2 seconds per turn to decide what needs to be done on your turn, if that.... someone help me out with this.. speak to me as if I'm a child, cause I'm missing something...

Want to play a 1on1 antartica, trench, sunny? Than Ill show you how trench can spice up a game :)

Trench is great for some games. Adds a flavor of "realism".

I think you hit the bullseye here. In fact, most people who don't like/ don't care about trench are people who don't have an special affection for "realistic" games.

I bet that if you want your games to have an important realism component, then you love trench. If you just care about a game and don't bother about establishing connections with reality, then you won't have any trouble enjoying a non-trench+escalating game.
Welcoming the long awaited Trench Warfare Setting (Previously Adjacent Attacks).

Would it be better if the donkey waxed?

Trench has its uses. Mainly to piss off those with small attention spans(myself included in this category a lot of the time). Playing trench speed is like asking someone to dip their hand in lime juice, rock salt, and chilli oil, then fist you.

no bogane
first dip your hand in chilli oil, than rock salt and finaly lime juice
thats a big difference
but u can use first limeoil, rocksalt and finaly chilli juice
or u use handcuffs, and tickle your ass with a feather, thats a killer

Of course you are correct my learned friend. Dipping your hand in the oil first allows the salt and lime juice to be suspended in the oil, thus allowing for better diffusion of product/irritants.

yes my friend, i know what u wanted to say,
means u are using only the oil , right ;)

Well, realism? Please!! What is realistic about trench? If you play on world 2.1 vs let s say.. Drakonor... You are moving from a country to another in no time vs a room to another. Not to mention that a certain amount of soldiers wouldn t fit in a room lol.

And you can strategize all you want, outdeploy your oppononent all you want you always end up with some rolls you cannot miss +80% and you do miss, then the oppo gets the control of that given region that he should not have under any circumstance and there is no turning back, game will be a loss. In none trench you could always take it back.
And yes, trench is very simple and does not require tons of thinking unlike other game modes. i have played tons of trench, so it s pretty much always the same, you know what you got to do on every drop situation within a blink of an eye. As it s pretty simple once you know the drill, the opposition knows what to do too, most of the time.

yes combine trench and parachute, this is really a killer if u manage a bonus,
lets say in classic, it makes u jump to another bonus area right away
playing now 5 parachute games,
but i think with the new parachute , it somehow killed the spirit of CC
(i might stay off the parachute for the moment)
but maybe, cause i am a bad player anyway,
this parachute might be in my advantage
