SEEE THIS IS WHAT ORGANIZED RELIGION DOES IT WAS SUCH A BAD IDEA, if we didn't have it and everyone just had their own views and beliefs it would still be just as bad but then we would have individuals to blame are problems on.

Look, what the substitute teacher did was wrong. She showed an R rated movie with out the permission of the parents first. But, that is the ONLY thing she did wrong.

And jay, the bible says a LOT of things that people don't take literally/seriously or even completely ignore them.

That's YOUR opinion.

Jesus said, "You who has no sin cast the first stone." So when we can find a person who has no sin, then we can consider stoning. Grab a Snickers....it'll be awhile.

Because the law system is a pile of crap. This has nothing to do with discrimination against Christians or Athiests.

(Im sure someone will misunderstand this bit. What I mean is that neither of them should be able to sue over ideas they dont like and it was just the essential crappyness of the law system that let the Athiest person do it.)

Ok, please explain to us mere mortals, exactly how Homosexuality is immoral or bad in any way, without referencing a certain old book in any way.

After 17 years of living by your code and only by your code, I dont think your children are going to be very likely to spontaneously watch a movie that you have been against for so long.

so I've seen brokeback, and passion. I've gotta say, passion is the more traumatizing of the two. That's beside the point. Jay... Do you ever look around, look at the faces on TV, hear the voices on the radio, (outside of fox news and late-night talk shows) and realize they aren't like you? Do you ever think that maybe the fags in suits have it right? Why, for example, are homosexuals evil? Your holy book doesn't have any evidence for it, and is downright silly, in places. The church makes up all kinds of things. Why is the fact that homosexuals are evil any more or less valid than a geocentric universe? I do not understand you Jay, and I honestly want to. Your worldview is so foreign to me it's unbelievable. Explain?

Exactly. The bible expressed the morals and beliefs of teh people at taht time. A lot of things have changed since then.

And if you quote the bible let me tell you that the Greeks thought it was perfectly fine for men to have sex with each other. They didn't even have a word for it!

I'll try. God is holy and righteous, without sin. He calls us to live according to the standards He has set. To refrain from sin. God has called homosexuality a sin. It is an "abomination to the Lord". Sin is sin, whether it be homosexuality or adultery or drunkenness.

I realize a lot of people are not like me...but there are some. (Without getting into the broad road/ narrow road passage) Unfortunately more people will not choose God over those that will. I'm not following God to be popular.... that would be a self contradiction. The church (most) do not "make stuff up". Its all right there in the Bible.

I'm not seeking the favor of men, but of God.

Encouragement for you, Jay

Postby luns101 on Tue May 15, 2007 1:34 am

Jay, God bless you for standing up to the rifle range of insults that come from those who claim to be tolerant:

Nephilim wrote:jay, you're a jackass. passion of the christ isn't "religion" and brokeback isn't "alternative lifestyles." how old are you? too young to know that the world ain't black and white like you might want it to be. Passion was ultra gory. brokeback won oscars. get over it.

Dancing Mustard wrote:I don't know what Jay is so upset at. Gay Cowboys are awesome! If he checks his bible carefully then he'll find that Jesus once said "Blessed are the ranchers of cattle who lay with one another. In God's Heaven they will be blessed amongst men". I beleive it's part of his Sermon on the Mount Speech, Mark's Gospel if I'm not mistaken...
The point is, that sexing other male cowboys isn't an alternative lifestyle at all, and we ought to be encouraging little children to do it. It's the Christian way; and if Jay doesn't agree then he ought to be fed to Satan. The bible says so.

Let me repeat myself: the bible was written when the morals were much different from now. It is not a sin to be gay. The parents just realized they could sue for a lot of money.

First of all there is way too much suing happening in America. Why can't you resolve your problems without suing?

Besides why would you sue the school that is teaching your child? If you do it means less money so there would be less equipment and it would only be worse for your child!

And jay I'm sorry but you have been owned in this thread. We have all presented good posts and all you do is say it is a sin. I wonder whose post is more persuasive :?:

Please document your source here. God is the same yesterday, today and forever. Gods word is timeless. You can deny it till Simon quits American Idol but homosexuality IS a sin.

I'm not a big fan of suing anybody. But I do think there should be consequences for the teacher/school who allowed this movie to be shown to 12 year olds. And to any parent who stands up for what's right, I salute them. =D> =D>

Yeah, ok...if you say so. If I could persuade but 1 life to the reality that homosexuality is a sin. That will do far more good then 10,000 that you persuade that its not.

1. If gods word is timeless then I shouldn't eat meat should I, because thats in the 10 commandments. I think that is a time restriction in 'gods word'

2. Sure something should happen to the teacher that showed a Rated R movie to students. But a 500k lawsuit against the school? A little ridiculous. it sorta makes you think they just want money.

3. That is the only response he can come up with to it, however, in his mind homosexuality is a sin. You aren't going to change his mind its his beliefs and I don't know why you are trying to force in his mind that he should change. Sure logic dictates he should, but I give up.

It is in a few places in the Bible. Starting with Sodom and Gomorrah two cities that were destroyed by God and many of those people were homosexuals. Then I think in Leviticus it states, "A man shall not lie with another man as with a woman for it is an abomination to the Lord."

Also see 1 Cor. 6:9

There are probably more verses on this subject but these are the ones I know off hand.

That'll be Sodom and Gomorrah, the biblical story where God let Lot and his family (apart from his wife who if I remember he turned to a pillar of salt in a fit of rage for the heinous crime of looking over her shoulder) escape from the destruction of the city because Lot, being the reasonable man that he was, offered to the Sodomites his own young daughter to buggar rather than the two angels...

Nice, really good moral hidden in there somewhere... Jay, pick your examples a little more carefully perhaps... Sodom and Gomorrah is one of the most abhorent of the old testament stories...

just read about it on wikipedia instead of letting the angels he let his two daughters out. I really don't think people should follow that example.
