Downloading Maps...

Postby celliottii on Fri Aug 23, 2013 9:44 pm

Other than taking a screen shot, is it possible to download any of the CC maps to be printed off? I'm going to be hosting a Risk gaming day at our local games store and would like to share some of the maps from here.

Thanks!

Hey there, celliotti!

Conquer Club obtains permission to use these maps from the authors, and you should do the same! I know many mapmakers are still with us, and if you'd like, you can contact them to see if they're ok with your use of their maps. Best,

You have permission to use my Thailand map, not the prettiest, but if you can't get permission to use any others, might do.

If they let you use them the images are all available in the map foundry: viewforum.php?f=358

It appears a lot of links are broken though from old image hosting sites that are out dated now.

Firefox: Go to a game, then click Tools, Page Info, Media Tab, scroll down, select map, hit "Save As." Done.

IIRC, the map makers have larger resolution map files, and it's always nice to ask first. If they don't wish to share their higher quality pics, then at least you've got the okay quality pics.

Thanks, BBS...I've actually sent out PMs to a few designers for permission. Since we're going to be playing on an actual board, I'm trying to stay away from the complex maps until they get a bit more experience.
