They sued the teacher for showing 'BrokeBack Mountain' in class because she said she suffered from physcological disorders after it?

If she didn't want to watch it, she could of just said I don't want to watch it to the teacher.
And if they are so homophobic for it to happen, again, she could of said no.

This is stupid, utterly, utterly stupid.

Oh give me a break! You know as well as I if the teacher played Passion of the Christ instead, the ACLU would have been called in and sued the school, the teacher and Mel Gibson!
If religion should not be forced on kids (and I agree that it shouldn't) neither should alternative lifestyles.

Some parents raise their kids with Christian values and this is a blatant disregard of the parents will that their child should not be exposed to this. Not only that the movie is rated R and it was shown to 12 year olds?

Maybe they were learning about cowboys or something and obviously didn't know about 'The Man From Snowy River'?

And only 2 casts were apparently gay, not the whole cast.

Plus US$500,00 is a lot of money. You sue that for seeing just one movie?

Hmmm what is the age requirement for an R rated movie? I'm pretty sure its not 12. I've never seen the movie myself but as I understand the plot ...it was about two gay cowboys keeping their affair a secret.

Bottom line....this shouldn't be shown in public schools any more then Girls Gone Wild.

If the public school system won't allow morality to be taught in school they had better not expect to show or teach things that can be seen as immoral.

Yup, that's why they teach religion in schools. Sure, they can teach religions in schools, but not different lifestyles. Yeah, that makes sense.
I'm sure about 1 in 10 children in that class would become homosexual anyway. And yeah, Religion really boosts up your morality, and homosexuality just decreases it.

And you Americans have way to many R rated movies.

Where is religion taught in school? Other than college where it would then be a CHOICE not mandatory!

There is no religion taught in school, the chances of one in 10 kids becoming homosexual is absurd, sarcasm is a tool for those who have no real arguement so don't use it, and your point about R rated movies is backed up by no proof and comes from a decidedly biased perspective.

Religion is [normally] taught in schools. Maybe in just schools over here.

And I agree that it was wrong that they should an 'R' rated movie to 12 year olds, but not with that homosexuality is wrong.

Passion of the Christ was about JESUS (refraining from a life altering insult here). How YOU can say it doesn't fall into a religious category and GAY COWBOYS doesn't fall into alternative lifestyles shows your complete ignorance and the possible revocation of your right to breath!

You are calling a person you do not know a jackass based on his point of view and you called his age into question based on the same reason. How did you become so worldly? You are right about the passion not being religoin and brokeback not being alternative lifestyles, but technically the passion won an oscar too and I thought both the passion and brokeback taught valuable lessons.

Cowboys aren't as much as they used to be. People are called cowboys cause they live on farms now and wear the stereotypical stuff.

Jesus, oh man, he's got some believers.
