i couldn't watch it cause i don't get sports south; but i thought hell ya, the braves bullpen is consistently outplaying other teams, our comeback wins are giving me a hard on for the playoffs

and following the game online, i thought: how did we only score 1 run vs maddux, wtf!!!

lived up to the hype, great duel, the Braves are lucky Maddux isn't as young as he was, because they pulled it out by getting past him to the bullpen

ya, he's only one of the top 5 or 6 starters in the league.....and at only 8 million this year, the best value overall, probably

well disagreeing doesn't mean much, bring some stats

Smoltz last year:

tied for 1st in wins
7th in ERA
4th in innings
3rd in strikeouts
7th in WHIP

1st in the hearts and minds of his teammates and braves fans everywhere

also looking damn good this year, mate

btw, did you enjoy watching dwight wallow in those hot coals tonite? i did

I'd say he's about 7th then.

He lucked out getting on a tema that wins alot, and he can pitch alot of innings.. sure 7th is really good but era and whip are what matters.

actually kyle, that was a team that finished under .500 and didn't win it's division for the first time in 15 tries. and ERA and WHIP matter most in fantasy, not the real game

With the problems we're having at the starter position with injuries (particularly Hampton) I'd say we need him in a starting role.

Because Maddux is a good pitcher. Hell, he was dominating us until he started to get tired.

Alot of emotion in that game, you could tell that both Smoltz and Maddux wanted to win that game no matter what it would take.
