Final Grades for the Spring Semester

Postby Anarkistsdream on Wed May 09, 2007 9:25 am

Final Grades were just posted for me...

An A, two Bs, and a C....

I am SUPER happy with that. Working forty hours a week and then going to school is fucking hard, and I am just really pleased with how things turned out...

Hope your grades turn out the way you want them, too!!!

Not too worried about two of my courses; I should pull A's in both E&M and Quantum Mechanics. Stat. Mech. is killing me, though. I'll be lucky to squeak by with a B-.

ABAA (A)

the B was from consumer econ, a pretty gay class, my third B of my entire high school career

the (A) was from AP art, which doesn't really count because its an after school class...

the next month and a half will decide my future, but here is my predicted grades anyway -

English - B
English Literature - B
Maths - A
Science: Double Award - AA
Design & Technology - Electronics - A
Geography - B
German - B
French - B

I'll take that, though I'm hoping to push my geography/french grade up one.

My worst grade in high school was also in home ec (this is what consumer ec is, no?), which I was quite unwillingly required by the school district to take. I made a D, which my irate parents and I finagled into getting changed to a C. Really, I didn't deserve any such grade. I went to class mostly, there wasn't any homework and few graded assignments, but I was maybe unnecessarily cruel to the teacher. I wouldn't call her ma'am. She was one of those many teachers of my young life with whom I had the following conversation:

Teach': "Did you finish?"
Me: "Yes."
Teach': "Yes what?"
Me: "What??"

Anyway, I blame that bad grade for my subsequent failure in life.

Sadly enough, E&M and Quantum Mechanics are my easy courses this semester.

Well, the good news is that, after this, my coursework is over, and I can concentrate on research.

No, I certainly would not have guessed those courses were PhD work. Of course there are varying levels of all classes, but you can take those classes at many high schools and pretty much any university for undergrad study. But like I said, the level of study is a whole different animal.

Well, the fact that I only mentioned three of them should be a clue.

But yeah, you're right. It's not as if I haven't had each of them at least twice before (although I don't know of any Quantum course worthy of the name that's taught before about the junior year). All physics courses are just rehashes of previous courses with more math anyways.

Congrats Narc and all you other scholary folk. Luckely for me, the students in my country have up to 2 years, after they listened all their lectures, to pass the exams. (On the other hand, this might not be so good, since I would probably graduate by now if I had some deadlines to kick me in the butt and make me study for a change. :-k
