I'm confused, maybe the PR's are self enforced, maybe they're not. Then again, "voices in your head" could be quite crazy indeed.

I can't tell if vodean's last vote on edoc is serious or not. If it is, that's not much of a reason...

I am comfortable with claiming at any point, so long as I am not seen as a target by vig or mafia.
Otherwise, why should I care either way?

should we mass-claim (not this subtle guessing game shit, but fo' reelz) at what part of the psyche we are? that wont tell scum what roles we have, but may result in a scum-slip if we are lucky...

vodean, i think you are fishing too much, it's just day 1 and most of your Posts are fishing for roles. I know this is a small game, but still, it's fishy.

this actually sounds interesting and if done right has the potential of exposing all the mafia players. however i'm not sure it would be in the game spirit. i mean the game would be over in D1.
but if people want to, then i'm ok with this. but we need to do it right otherwise the mafia can fakeclaim easily.

well, that being said i don't have a problem with it per se. i have nothing to hide anyway. but i'm not the first one to claim either.

with 11 players, there may be little room for slacking of though, so a little bit of pressure may be needed.

well if we are to do this right, we need to set a time when we're all online, make a list of all people in the game and randomise it, then in that random order we make the claims (without the actual roles). this should make it really hard for mafia to fakeclaim, unless somehow they end up being the last on that random list.

Mr. squirrel tends to give fake claims and in a 11 player game there is room for a couple good fake claims. you're also cooling yourself if you can't guess possible roles to go with claims. deciphering which claims are the strongest is a two way street it gives town a better idea who is telling the truth and mafia a better idea of who to kill and role block or even frame. so yeah I'm gonna go with it would be insane to mass claim right now.

that's really confusing, I don't really care for it, and who's to say hiw the shuffle turned out unless the person streams it live?
I'm indifferent to mass claiming, I suppose either way it would increase my own odds for survival since both factions would have more targets to guess at, so it wouldn’t be bad for me, but strike might have a valid point... perhaps?
I personally was not given a fake claim in Briarsburg, and I was a consultant for Sweeny Todd mafia, and I do not remember discussing fake claims, so I'm not totally sure where strike is coming from.

But why not ask the mod himself?

oh and by the by, if we were to mass claim, my preferred method would be the last person to claim choose the next to claim and so on, since it puts the outcome in everyone’s hands.

yeah this would work too.
the idea is that we should not let the mafia claim when they want (last).

But if they claim last, we can just lynch the last x number of players until we win.

well there have already been enough soft-claims that mafia would be able to look there to figure out what to claim, but im for each person picking the next person. who goes first?

There were no claims for Briarsburg as I remember but that was a bit different as he wasn't pulling a known theme of any kind. Characters could literally come from anywhere unlike here where they are mostly limited by emotions that can be picked. Didn't play Sweenie Todd so can't say. X-Men mafia had fake claims, Zelda mafia had fake claims.

Would suggest we knew that they were claiming last. That plan has the same inherent value as voting for the last 3 people to post at the start of the game because they are inactive. It's also all assuming that mafia did not get fake claims.

There were 11 items in your list. Here they are in random order:

9: Lord Voldymort
4: edocsil
3: /
8: DiM
5: safariguy
11: PCM
1: Strike Wolf
10: Vodean
7: campin_killer
6: zimmah
2: jak111
Timestamp: 2012-07-30 13:23:05 UTC

So voldymort starts, than picks who he wants to claim second, etc?

Sweeney Todd had fakes. But either way, there's only so many emotions that can be claimed.

How many? because I can think of 13 off the top of my head that aren't listed among scum emotions and if we are to believe /'s soft claim (a coping mechanism) not all are as simple as just being emotions.

And do you really think in an 11 player game we are only dealing with 6 basic emotions? Because I can look at the first post where Squirrel mentions sloth and greed and tell you we're not.

no. obviously not. my role is not one of them, so i know they arent. i was just saying to those who were wondering how many emotions there are and that this may make it difficult for mafia to fake-claim.
why are you so aggresive?

Because your thought was filler. It did not contribute to the discussion, while it was still an attempt to appear active and pro town. This is inherently scummy.

Maybe because I am a role that will be intrinsically disbelieved and w
don't wish to claim because I'd rather not be lynched day 1. Maybe I'm a strong role who just doesn't want to become a bigger mafia target than I already am. maybe I just really dislike this idea in general. or maybe I feel like you've been role fishing since the day began and distrust your motives.

BTW: it is the last two.
