Oh look at that I just identified what CC is using far less words than you.
What a negative conception of CC! Yours is dark, dark world.

If I can effortlessly maintain maintain my rank if I hit colonel in the same fashion that I do with major, what does that scenario present?

That's deep.

Here are ten reasons why I don't care about points:
1. I don't care about points, I just need to make sure I am playing for 20 points each time or I will drop rank. I like to imagine, in flagrant violation of the truth, that guys like Cof or mc have to play with stripers to maintain their rank.
2. Because major is the lowest rank with a 500 point spread, it's full to the brim with players, 1100 of them, nearly 10% of CC. There are so many of us in fact that by sheer force of numbers we've coerced the CC community into accepting our self-inflated opinion that being a major means you are a good player. Clever eh?
3. Did I mention that i dont care about points? I can just about keep to major and still throw in one or two games I haven't played before. Neat.
4. If you play games where the purpose is to bore the opposition to death it's really important not to take on brigs or generals as they typically have greater powers of concentration than you do.
5. Some of CC's most widely ignored posters have held the highest ranks - master fenrir, king_herpes, everyone agrees they are really dull.
6. I dont care about rank and because I don't care about rank I'm going to pretend there arent clans like tofu and kort who regularly field teams with multiple generals and brigs, with some colonels thrown in to make up the numbers.
7. Did I mention that points dont matter to me? But Ive found i can ranch some settings and that makes up for all the bruises to my ego by getting good trips scores that I write down in the little black book where I also record my one-handed nighttime escapades!
8. Another way of feeling good about myself is that i play against other low ranks - so my EQ rating looks great!
9. I don't care about rank but once or twice I've got some good dice early on and actually beaten some brigs and generals! Yaayyyy!
10. Really really honestly truly i dont envy the perfectionism of proper high ranks who want to win every game they play and aim at playing every turn well. Really.

Are we seriously supposed to believe that the status-obsessed Mr C wouldn't be playing at a higher rank if he could?

I'm currently considering how a chap enjoys his frenzy of self-gratification after having chopped both his arms off. If we accept that both amputations (slowly sliced with a rusty pen knife with only a few shots of whiskey for the pain naturally...well, I AM a major after all) have been done around the elbow, where would one PUT said appendages? I feel that the most practical recourse would be to actively thrust into one of them, while attempting some sort of self-buggering with the other. This would be undeniably tricky, but no doubt satisfying for a man who has learned to dominate the CC World.

With a double dildo, there would be no problem at all.

For someone that has no care for points/rank you sure do get rather soiled about those "fucking points".
