Poll Creation and Editing

Postby chapcrap on Thu Jun 21, 2012 6:41 pm

I have a thread that I made a poll in and the first poll worked fine. I removed the poll when it was no longer relevant.

When I tried to start a new poll, all of the information is messed up and shows up incorrectly. What's weird is that it shows up correctly when I preview the post. It's only when submitted that the problems occur.

The problem is that the fields I enter for poll do not come out correctly. I enter 2 fields and end up with 4 or 6 and some of them aren't even the fields I entered. They are fields that were choices in the poll previously.

So, my question is: Am I doing something wrong or is this supposed to happen? Or is it a bug?

There is a known reoccurring bug when it comes to edit posts and polls and new polls...the Foundry has experienced it quite a few times before! Do you have a link to your post? Either post it here, or PM me!

Welcome to the foundry!
It happens all time in our forum, the quickest way is to delete the poll (if you have mod priv. in that forum) since there's no way to fix it and when you eexperience it your data are screwed in any case (no back option)

In any case it's not a bug, or at least it wasn't in past, in fact the PHPBB Team made it to not allow people to change poll results after starting them. Honestly I don't know if the new CMS versions are changed but the last time I checked they weren't so in favour to change the code to allow the edit options.
