how can u tell when a player is oline

Go to the forum index and scroll down to the bottom of the screen. All users currently online are listed there, unless they've chosen to hide their online status in the my settings page.

While we're on the subject, I'd like to see a field on people's profiles which says when they last logged in. It would help us distinguish between deadbeaters who joined, got bored of waiting & haven't returned since, and newbies who actually come back and take their turns.

It would also help us to check whether a missed turn was due to not having been able to take a turn or whether it was an intended tactical choice.
