What is the most influencial country on World 2.1?

On World 2.1 there are some countries which are influencial. Like Moskva, it is in europe but anyone going for asia is going to want it to decrease their borders.

I put Congo and Sudan in the Poll cos they are both exetremely useful when taking Africa. I wouldnt say they were the most influencial though...

North east brazil and iceland. both can break 3 bonuses one move away.

I put Mexico. Some one always seems to get the bonus around china or they take oceania. Plus its essential for holding S. America or N. America.

And both are extremely important for holding a entire continent.

Personally I hate having my armies in Asia, but for some reason I always get a good draw there so I've learned to love China. The only problem with China is it a country that you must eventually go through to get somewhere else, so if you are relying on China to fortify Southeast Asia and India, you had better have a massive force on it.

Mexico IMO is overrated. Everyone seems to go for it early on in the game and like China, it is a spot that has high traffic. If I can avoid being in Central America I will, but sometimes it is your only option.

Iran and Moskva are key countries to holding Asia so those are two countries that have high importance. The problem is that Moskva is key to holding Europe as well, so it becomes a war torn country. If you are in Asia, you have to be able to hold Moskva or everything you've built is lost, but if you wait too long to take it, the European power will fort the hell out it and you'll burn up too many armies taking it.

I guess what I'm saying is that most of these countries are equally important, but depending on the current situation in the game, one of these countries can become the most desired spot.

Late in the game, I prefer to hold the entire southern hemisphere. Getting control of that means gaining control of Antarctica. Without holding all of Antarctica, it makes too many hold points for holding the southern hemisphere.

My nomination is Hawaii - not only is it required to receive the full Oceania bonus, but is also a nexus point for 3 continents.

Hawaii. it's still a part of oceania, so it's vital for that continent bonus. it's a great border spot with easy access to N. Am, Asia, Oceania, AND S. America. people also often don't pay a whole bunch of attention to it. But a ton of armies on hawaii will give enemies across half of the map good reason to be careful.
