Sort games by # of slots left?

Postby RobinJ on Wed Apr 11, 2007 5:32 pm

<Subject>:
Sort games by # of slots left?

<Body>
After searching the games turned up by gamefinder, I would like to sort them as to how many slots they have left

Personally, I nearly always join games as the last player and I have never started my own game throughout my time here because I like to get into the game as soon as possible. I think this would be especially helpful now because my normal search criteria (unlimited, sequential) usually brings up 3-5 pages with the increasing numbers of site users, most of which I don't want to look at. My suggestion would put my preferred games right at the top

* Priority**: 2 - I realise that this is not important but it is always nice to have more options which make you love the site even more. Also, I doubt whether there should be any difficulty in doing this at all as it seems rather basic.

What is everybody's opinion on this?

I love the idea just what i need, i often join as last or second last person and it does sound like a reletively quick option to implement

Right I'm going to revive this because I now turn up 4 pages of games with game finder for my desired settings (Unlimited Sequential), most of which i don't want to read.

rather than search by how many spaces left, I think it would be better to just be able to sort the results by how many spaces are left. That way, I can have the ones with 1 space left listed first, followed by the next best with 2 spaces left. That way if I don't like any of the games with one space left (if there are any) that meet my criteria, then I don't have to do another search just to find the ones with 2 spaces.

i personally very rarely join games, i only ever really create games (its because i struggle with rememberin what colours i am, its far easier to stick to red) but i still think this would be a good idea, and i imagine with the amount of work theyve already done on the game finder option this wouldnt be too difficult for them to implement, i may be wrong on this as i have very little idea what it takes to make things like this happen.

I agree with Stoney...

If the results of the game finder could be sorted that would be great - saves changing the game finder screen itself... just the results... this would also apply to "join a game" screen... and "Games of XXXX" screen (as they're the same screen!)

Also another option... if you enter a number in the game finder and it's a game in progress or finished - can it just load straight in... it would remove a superfluous click...

(If it's awaiting players/you're in the game then it should display as present.)

BUMP! I just saw a new thread about this and I thought it would be easier just to bump this one - any new opinions because the amount of games I don't want to look at is increasing

I don't see why this shouldn't be considered, but to be honest I'd never use it.
