I'm saying that if we have more than 1 person who drop scumtells, I'm willing to go after both cases. I.e. the cases make sense. But if we just randomly bandwagon to force claims (like jonty), then I don't believe it is productive and can be detrimental in the long run.

Basically, I'm not opposed to pressuring multiple people Day 1 if they drop some scumtells, but I haven't seen that today and I don't believe we should just force claims in the hopes of getting a lynch.

Hm, at this point, it appears we have two options, given recent situations: lynch chapcrap (or bring him to claim) given his semi-scummy behavior, or go to a no lynch, likely with some night actions to be performed on chap. With the prospect of lynching chapcrap, there is the possibility that he claims a town role and we all believe him, going into Night 1 with a no lynch and two claimed townies. And with going with a no lynch, several night actions (tracker, cop, watcher, etc.) may be wasted on him, giving town not much more information other than what we got on chap (which, in the worst case scenario, would point to his being town, giving us with again, not much to go on Day 2). I think the better option at this point is a no lynch, with strictly the cop investigating chap (as I imagine we have one), so as to broaden our knowledge of night actions.

I disagree with this. Although I don't want to claim, I think this is a faulty idea. If the cop wastes his investigation on me, then it deprives the town of an actual investigation of someone who may be scum. I will claim voluntarily before I let that happen. Better to have 2 claimed townies and let the investigatory townies use their powers on others, IMO.

Right, but you're operating on the assumption that people believe your claim. Investigative roles may decide to investigate you regardless of whether you actually roleclaim today or not.

It's best not to WIFOM night actions that haven't occurred yet.

Had a brainwave while typing this post so it might not make sense but what if he was the mafia godfather who was investigate immune and had a one-shot bulletproof vest (can they have both :?:

). So his claim would be as safe as houses. I've only just thought about that on the fly so feel free to criticise

Since we are nearing the deadline, I feel like I should claim so that I don't get switch by the mafia or needlessly investigated or watched by town. I don't really want to claim, but I feel like I need to because of the circumstances.

I have to echo the head wall sentiment. You would have been better off waiting it out today. You weren't going to be lynched today and mafia wouldn't target you for a kill. Not to mention with the strength of the case it's likely that the vig (if there is one) would not feel the need to off you. Either cop does investigate you and you come up innocent and you're still the main suspect and you have a full day to fight off accusations and maybe get out of it, maybe you're forced to claim. OR you get framed you're forced to claim. Either way you would have bought yourself AT LEAST an extra day. This is the exact reason I was worried about a second claim in this game something like this.
